Well the wrench prop didn't feel to great. So I swaddled back in the 4/15. Installed an 88 mm reduction nozzle and a larger pump cone. To help get rid of some of that low end cavitation. Going back out this after noon. Hoping for some success.

Well that went about as I expected it to. Smaller nozzle and larger cone made little difference if any. I think I'm just gonna ride it like this for a couple weeks till I can afford a few more things.

Step one- buy prop gauge
Step two- get props so low pitched you think they will cavitate. Start with the lowest and see if it spins it. Work your way up until you find one that doesn't spin.
FYI I currently have a 11/19 in my 155 1105 combo. I'm stepping down to a 10/17. Don't be afraid to try much smaller props than you think might work.

The leading edge seems really low but a 15 trailing in a 155 behind an 898 seems big. I'm pretty sure that trailing edge is the one that really matters. What does php suggest in a 155 behind that setup? (I'm sure you started there but just for reference for the thread)

Well I figure I would say were I am at with this. I picked up a flame ts2 and billet ebox used off here. And got a hold off impros who just received my wrench prop. The original 7/18 prop Php suggested I was going to have them prop it to a 6/16 for use with the hx3 system but told them to stick to the 7/18 as I'm hoping Php has it rite. Lol wow what a learning experience so far. And a costly 1 at that. With all the props and repitching just to end up were I started I could have just bought the damn TL and saved myself the hassle. Oh well I guess. But I plan on getting ahold of the gentleman that's been helping me so far and continue to take his advice as everything he has suggested had helped. I should have prop and TL by the end of next week. I'll post jets and what ever else I might need this week and I'll should have my final verdict about 2 or 3 rides after that.

I would like to add my experience with props this weekend... I was running an 11/19 in my setup and just went down to a 10/17 and kept the 89 mm nozzle. My ski ran before and is had been flipped and impressed a lot of people that rode it. All I can say is its now double the boat it was. The steeper prop loaded the pump before the motor was "on the pipe" (or "when the power band kicked in" lol) now with the less agreesive prop it isn't loading the pump as early and the pump hits it's efficient range once the motor comes to life. It revs up so quickly and hits almost instantly. I could have chased tuning issues the rest of the summer if I hand taken Phil Clemmons advice and propped down. Moral of the story- matching your prop to the rest of your setup is friggin priceless!

how much diff was the curve you moved to from the old one that wasnt doing well? what static setting were you using? Its amazing how much diff 30 deg or more makes up to 5k. The lighter tl fw may help a bit for off idle response,but no where near what higher timing gives you with any FW

Pretty big difference in timing curves. Static timing was at 28° original. New timing is 32°. And it jumps up pretty rapidly. Were as the other Just raised and lowered gradually.

How many washer are behind your prop?
A good thing for everyone to have in their tool box is a set of XS pump cones. Get all three sizes, they are pretty cheap and really help with pump tuning.
You say it's cavitating. There is a difference between cavitating and spinning the prop. If it's cavitating you have a problem. If it's spinning your pump setup isn't right.
So is your prop spinning?
Sounds like you need to tighten it up. That smaller exit nozzle and bigger cone is a step in the right direction. If you already have the biggest cone in and it's still spinning the prop try and take a washer out from behind the prop if you can. If you can't, then I'd go to a 86mm exit nozzle and leave the big pump cone in. That should make a huge difference from your original 90mm exit nozzle and small cone.
If it still acts the same, I'd think you have a cavitation problem. Check your pump seal, mid shaft for air leaks

Lol thanks zach I'm trying to get on your level but it's not easy.
And Jace thanks for the help. I removed all washers from behind the prop. I don't have all the XS cones only the smallest 1 and the original large scat cone. I totally agree with you tho. Any 1 tuning there pump should have at least 2 If not all 3 of there cones as they are very inexpensive. My original 7/18 should be back from impros this week.
