I have heard Awl-grip paint was extremely durable and hard.It says for topside use only but this is designed for Yachts, you won't be leaving your ski in the water for months or years on end.

nope im sure it would sink in about a hourlol just seeing what would hold up against the constant beaching

'' hold up against the constant beaching'' ?? good luck It has to be harder than sandpaper !! or if you chuck a little mass off of the rider then the friction will be reduced where the finish meets the beach ,that being said ,your finish of choice will last longer, even allowing latex to be used !

Krylon spray paint - that stuff for plastic etc - I did my old 650sx years ago and it lasted for the next 3 years I had it. I didn't regularly drag it on the shore, but nor do I do that with my 07 SJ. Try a light sanding of the hull, wipe it down with some sort of cleaner and try the Krylon - get a stand for the beach..Its a Watercraft not an ATV the beach will wreck any finish.

Good luck

Anyone tried rustoleum? Maybe I'll buy some white and we'll try it on the wifey's ski.

How about Rhino spray on lining?

atv watercraft close enough(its a pos,i hate taking care of ski,s, rather buy a cheep hull every few years).....i just dont want to have exposed glass, i fig that may speed up the distruction, im really thinking about the rhino lining

Gel coat is some super hard stuff. But it gets sprayed on 1/4 inch thick and then sanded down smooth and buffed. So there would be a noticeable addition of weight. I would just go with some spray bomb stuff then you can touch it up every month or so with no problems.

My hull was not bad, but some of the bottom paint was chipped down to the smc, so I sanded it smooth to the smc, then brushed on a thick coat of 2-part epoxy. It turned out so smooth that I didn't have to sand it again.

I'm actually thinking about doing the entire lower hull with black tint... kinda like gel-coat but for SMC. Epoxy rules.
