Bought a blaster!!

Drove from west Michigan to Ohio to pick it up!!! It is pretty much stock just has a pro tec intake grate, billet finger throttle, slippery bars and supposedly some aftermarket reeds

I am trying to figure out what to do with it. Here are my options:

I have a Kawi 1100 motor/electronics I could throw in and tripple mikuni 44s

I have 65u gp1200 motor/electronics I could put in it

Or I could leave the stock 701 in it throw a pipe on it, etc

My main concern is the ski being too heavy for freestyle and surf riding if I throw a tripple in it.

Also I want to get an affordable steering setup for it what are my options there? UMI, 701 Industries anyone else make it?

What do you guys think?

It came with a trailer that needs some work, a work cart, and some other misc. parts

If you noticed in the pics one side has the sticker on the bottom and the other side doesn't I'm going to have to peel the other one off hahh

My buddy had an 1100 Blaster. He sold it and he's back to a 701 setup now. He found it was too heavy for the surf. The large triples are great if you want relatively inexpensive speed and power. For jumping and freestyle, I would suggest sticking with the twin motors... Maybe even drop in a Big Bore. Just my 2 cents...

We have the same machine that we purchased last summer. It was low hours, came with a Pro-Tec pipe & head, UMI steering, aftermarket bars, top loader grate and a Pro-Tec ride plate. Still has the stock impeller.

My friend has the same machine without the Pro-Tec engine parts and there is a very noticeable difference in low end power. I highly recommend the Pro-Tec parts if you stay with the 701 setup.

Ours is a blast to ride in it's current configuration, but I can't leave well enough alone!

Planning to have #Zero lighten the flywheel and bore the nozzle this winter, add a 10/16 Hooker, and maybe add rear exhaust and a transom plate from 701 Industries to it for wave jumping in Lake Michigan.

I've never ridden an 1100 or 1200 setup so I can't comment on the weight difference, etc…

The UMI steering is nice, but I would opt for the 701 suspension steering if you're willing to buy new. If you can find a good used UMI at a reasonable price they are a very nice setup.

Good luck!

Real good deal. The ski alone is worth that. Stick with your 701 like sneds said! I just built a free style ski, 701 ported w factory b pipe, water box,701 black reaper steering (which is badass) and a few extras and i love it. Nice find again man!

Do me a favor and transfer that out of my name, That bastid in Ohio never transferred the registration I see...
Look familiar?

Lol yes looks ver familiar! I will transfer the title/registration soon.
How long ago did he buy it from you? Just curious the back story on the ski. He acted like he had it for a while but Im curious if it was a quick flip for him. Did you sell it to him in running condition or was it blown up?

It ran fine when I sold it to him, that was the middle of last summer.
I told that clown to transfer it, he said he would if that speaks anything for his character... he doesn't take his word very seriously.

The Burple skis are my favourite ones. They are also the strongest of all the hulls. Yours looks great. I run a 1200 but in my opinion I would keep the twin if surf riding is your main goal. The triples are a lot of fun but to heavy for the surf. If you want a affordable steering system that is built for surf riding you can buy the Quicksteer . At the moment with the exchange rate is around $350.00 US If you can afford it , I would highly recommend the Quicksteer with Suspension. More dollars but its the best system in the World for freeride on a Blaster. There is still free shipping available to members until the end of the month. Makes these steering systems even more affordable. http://701industries.com/index.php/store Remember to add code XH2O in the coupon section . In the 701 Surf Mod section there is some pics of your model ski that have been modded for the Surf. WHOA

I am very much considering purchasing the quicksteer.

About how long will it take to ship to me in Michigan?

What are the best pro taper MX bars to run with this set up?

Ha mate, these QS are set up for Mega Fat bars. 31.8mm. I also sell the best available bars in my shop. If you want to run the smaller 28.6mm bars let me know at time of purchase by email and I will put a set of reducing sleeves in for you. Freight goes by AUS post from Australia to the US. From then it goes by USPS. which has tracking. It normally takes 10 days to reach you but I would allow 2 weeks as the US postal service is backed up still from weather delays. The shop sends within 24 hours of receiving the order. The great thing about the Mega Fat Bars is they sweep up a lot closer to the bar clamp which looks a lot better but also gives you more room on the grip section for flip bars. I also carry them in gold.

I have a purple one and will say between my super bails in tona and huge airs in lake Michigan my transom has no cracks. Three years now. I would keep adding 701ind. Products, can't go wrong.

See you in the big lake buddy!
