Bought a superjet!!

Hello everybody! Im new to the forum. I bought a 93 square nose Superjet today. Ive been wanting one for quiet a while now and finally found one nearby and got a killer deal on it. I believe this ski will be much cheaper and easier to work on than my blowed up 01 Seadoo RXDI thats been sitting messed up for 2 years now, that i only got maybe 2 months riding time out of lol.

I've never rode a stand up ski before but i think im gonna like it. Although its in pretty nice shape i plan on painting it this winter and doing some sticker work on it. All the factory graphics have been stripped and i dont care for the white color of it.

When i called the guy about the ski he said i ran great, then one day he was out riding it and it just shut off and wouldnt start. He never touched it after that. When i went to look at it i ran a compression check on it and it was showing 120 psi on both cylinders with the throttle closed. I have a cheap tester so i dont know how accurate it is. Since it showed no difference from cylinder to cylinder though i believe we're good there. Then i proceeded to check my fire and it was dead on both plugs.

I have multimeter and i was wondering what i need to do to check my coil, cdi....ect before i go buying stuff and guessing. So if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreate it. Im kinda new to this stuff and electrical stuff isnt my strong point lol. I plan on buying the shop manual for it soon. Im thinking it might just be a bad coil but i wanna know how to check it before i go buying stuff. Thanks

I would take everything apart and check all the connections and give it a good cleaning.

My van was running great for a whole weeks worth of driving up to Georgia. Then when I was about 20 miles from home it just quit while driving down the highway. Rolled off the road and went oh crap this sucks.

Turns out it was one male/female connection in the plug from the gas tank sending unit/fuel pump to the wiring harness under the van. All I had to do was run a drill bit in the female end, polish up the male end add dielectric grease and it's been going strong for 4 years now. Someone at the factory missed the dielectric on one of the pins in the connector!!

Remember electricity doesn't fail to work it's always some mechanical component that has failed.

Good luck.

Im not sure i was wondering what that was also because it has a rubber o ring on it like something should go on there. Also i noticed my rear plug wire is tore where it fits over the plug. Do you think that would be causing my firing problem? It could have gotten wet on the plug wire and caused something to short out on my electric system. You can see the tear in that pic but the pic doesnt show all the damage to it. Its defanintly been rigged to get by. I believe i will replace that also.

Disconnect that kill switch and try it before going crazy inside the ebox. I think its the black and white plug nearest the ebox just outside it. If it starts just choke it till it dies.

That hose you asked about is a flush hose i believe. My fx1 has the same thing but i have no adapter for it so its kinda useless. Although dont quote me and try to run water through it without looking it over. I just know mine T's into the cooling lines on my ski

Well i disconnected the black and white wire plug coming out of my ebox and im still not getting any fire. I looked a parts diagram and seen there was a fuse in the ebox. I screwed the black cap off the ebox but didnt have anyluck pulling the fuse out so i could check it.

I ordered a Clymer manual for it so i guess when i gets here im gonna tear into the ebox. Hopefully it will tell me in the maunal how to test the coil and CDI to see which one i need.

Is there a easy way to change that spark plug boot thats tore or will i have to buy the whole assy? Im not no pro at this but i believe that ripped boot may have caused the problem i got and i dont want to have to the parts twice. What do yall think?
