I found a nice 2009 SXR on clist and decided to pull the trigger. The ski came with a R&D ride plate and intake grate, K&N flame arrestors, and a pole shock pad. Guy I bought it from is in the Army and has been riding stand ups for years. Mechanically she seems in excellent condition. Starts right up and is very fast to get up and go. I am 33 yrs old, 5"7 200 lbs, and I got right up my first try no problem. Its when I start pushing it where the fun begins and I will need to practice to get the hang of it. Lots of fun though and I am super sore this morning after riding it all weekend.
I think I paid a little more than I should have at $6500 but he did drive it down 4 hrs to deliver it to me and he is being stationed in Alaska soon, so I dont mind helping out a member of our Armed Forces, as I am a vet myself. Plus I felt better buying it from a person who enjoyed the sport and took care of his ride. This thing runs perfect.
I'm sure I will have lots of questions but my searching the forums has answered many already. I know I need to do some light epoxy work, there is a small crack on the back corner near the drain plug...and a few scratches here and there, mostly the nose and rub rails.
Its a lot different than my FZS for sure!
