It's more of a reassembly than a build but I figured I'd give it it's own thread. I do have some paint change plans for the distant future but for now I just want to build it and ride it.

I wasn't planning on ever parting with my ES hull but I showed the 'Pro" sale thread to my wife and she convinced me that for the right price, it was a no brainer. I made an offer and 1900 miles, 6 states and 32 hours of driving later, it was in my garage.

Well I want to strip the decals, turf, footholds and paint off it but Scott is telling me to get it on the water for this weekend and worry about all that down the road. The decals are coming off regardless and I don't imagine the turf and footholds will last more than a week or two. The paint can wait however as I hate the whole concept of sanding and painting.

I guess I better toss some reg letters on there as well.

I like the red and black paint, just not the turf. Red is a nice accent but there's a point where it becomes too dominant.

Nice looking ski for sure. How do these hulls carve pretty good ?

They carve very well as they have excellent traction. Makes them almost too stable though and it takes a bit of learning to get them to slide out. Once you master rider input though it's the best of both worlds and is a good solid all around ski.

....and eventually turns pink.

Couldn't you have had it shipped?

As far as the paint goes, looks like it is the offspring of the original and Sott's ski. I'd kill the decals and ride it for the summer.:bananalama:

All the online quotes I got were about even with the driving costs and still required insurance. I'm not a very trusting person so even if insured, I don't trust them not to damage it.

I posted it up on Uship and it must be ending soon because quotes started pouring in today. They started at $580 and it's now down to $295.

We did the trip for $385, the hull didn't get a single scratch and we got to spend some good quality time together.

Yup, turfed SN fire extinguisher keeps the DNR happy and gives me a front foothold at the same time.

I hope to have it ready for Sunday, not sure where we are riding yet though. Jax is a long haul to pull off and still get home but I'll go wherever the crew wants to ride.
