Boyesen RAD Valve Models

What's the difference between Boyesen RAD valve models? Boyesen has them listed for the 96-2012 rn sj as - 131, 131a, 131p, 131r. They don't post any photos, and the description is the same across the board for all of them. They all cost the same except the 131a, it's double the price.

I sent in a second email to Boyesen about this question as well. My last one to them went unanswered, that was about a week ago. I'm assuming I won't hear back from them again but in the meantime if anyone here has some insight it would be much appreciated to know the differences.

Different reed pedal designs, material, and tensions. Look at the Boyesen web site, and look at replacement pedals for each type of rad vavle.

The carbon reed images are all the same one. Only the 131a looks different but again all have the identical description. Their site doesn't go into detail what the real difference is in terms of application, or length or tension. The 131a uses power reeds while the others use pro series, that's the only difference they list.

I finally heard back from Boyesen, I had posted this a few minutes ago but made a mistake in my post so I deleted it and reposting. They sent me an application chart that has ALL the info, I just didn't see how they utilized the Excel spreadsheet. If I weren't on my way out of town right now I'd put the spreadsheet together here since we can't attach Excel files. But I will have updates to this question later tonight ...and thank you Boyesen for the data, it might be good enough to post as a sticky thread too

I buy from them all the time, but I know what I want so I call pay and they ship.

Honestly, there site has poor info and is hard to use. I cant find what I want on it. I'd say call them up and if they answer ask some questions. If they don't or cant, then go with a different company. Good luck, hope they help you out.

They definitely did help out, and the info list they gave me is exactly what we need to help us decide on what will best suit our needs. I will be doing a copy and paste of all the info later tonight. It clears up so much question on this topic. Once I saw the descriptions of all the reeds I was very impressed. There's a lot of data there.
