brandy new sj

took it home today, new to the forum. I will be asking questions. a lot. just from reading around here I've found some useful info and it appears to be a pretty small group of people that love stand ups. cant wait! thanks to the guys at H&K powersports in Hooksett N.H you were great. Any input on prep to machine before I dump it in much appreciated

Don't forget to mix the gas and oil! Ride and enjoy it for a season or 2 before dumping money into it. :)
yup! the owner of the shop had an older 550 that I bought off him for my girl. all original. cant wait. now only if it would stop raining... what are you guys doing for flushing after salt water? I saw there is a flush port but to my understanding thats a waste of time

It is definitely not a waste of time! The best flush is to ride it in fresh water immediately after salt.

There are plenty of threads on flushing if you search. Check out our tech faq forum as well for lots of great information.

Welcome to your new obsession.

There are guys that ride out of Hampton Beach NH - ALWAYS flush and wash the ski after salt water rides - get tow loops on the ski so it can be towed if swamped in the ocean - never ride alone and make sure you one of you has a tow rope - ocean is a very powerful system - best get a bilge pump in that thing if your going to ride surf.

probably keep it on the lake for now. maybe hit essex or ipswich river once I feel comfortable you think a 3/2 with 5mm booties would work in the lake this time of year?

omg rode this thing its awesome. Just need more people to go now. I can see now why people like these things. screw riding dirtbikes when its a hundred degrees out

Next steps as follows;

1 - Let your friends try it
2 - Get them hooked
3 - Introduce them to the X / Craigslist
4 - Get them to purchase a ski

Repeat steps 1 - 4 with their friends

Always better riding with a group. Welcome to the X

Mike

where do you launch? Need to get my sea legs first lol. Need more than an hour on a stand up before I go into surf. I would like creeks tho. we have some here in gloucester I have a launch across the street
