Super Jet Breaking up when gets wet and it's not plugs

Plug gap didn't work I will try spraying salt water on the plugs and coil wires

Clayton, If the plug wires are bad they will light up like a Christmas tree with thousands of sparks along the wires or you'll find a concentrated area leaking spark...I once did this same spray test in a dark garage or you can throw a blanket over yourself outside and create enough darkness...this is a good test ocdfreeride....good luck.

I'm watching this thing closely, because I have the exact same issue going on with mine... New box/plug wires from JSS, bogging with little/no power after a few minutes.

Where do you hook up a ground wire? I've heard battery to engine case and ebox to case. How can you tell if it's reeds?

This was not intended to be a disrespectful thread-jack, and I hope it was not taken that way.

Did you ever get those vent tubes for your hood? To see if its a reed problem, I'm guessing you have to remove the manifold and visually inspect the reeds to find any damage. It seems to me that a reed problem would happen during any throttling and not just after stabs. If stabs = water in hull, and water in hull = running :):):):)ty; then water may be your problem. Milehigh could be be on to something, stator problem when the ski hits?

Yea checked all that got tubes back on couple cover back on. So i guess ill check the stator dam didnt want to do that. we will see got to get it done for the carolina beach freeride. NO BRAAAAAPPP means no fun.

Thanks man gona test stator tomorrow night. Jetmanic just shipped my motor at 745 tonight so might scramble to get that thing in before next weekend. Then should have plenty of bbbrrraaappp.

Just use an Ohm Meter (multimeter) to test the wires coming from the stator. You can do that without opening the flywheel cover. If it's stock, the service manual will give you acceptable ranges for each coil, as well as which wires to check.

The tubes that direct water on my hood are missing. This happens to me often especially if I sub deep and then fall to the side. When it happens and I cant restart, I pull the plugs and there is milky gas/oil/water mixture on the plugs. My SN hood sucks, and it sucks even more with out the proper tubes to direct water to the bilge and not all over the engine. thats my theory.

I used to run generic tcw3 and would get milky froth on the plugs when I got water ingestion and the water wouldn't get out of the motor during normal running. I switched to quick silver and have much less water ingestion issues and no frothyness.

I put generic tcw3 in a cup with water and the quicksilver in a cup with water. Shook both. The generic turned into a frothy mess but the quicksilver seperated like Cooking oil. Do this test. If your oil doesn't seperate from the water, change to a better oil.
