I'm just not sure yet what to do on my (future) hull. I'd like to go the legit, home-built HIN route, but the DOL /DMV has been very unresponsive thus far. Sure seems like going the other way would be cheaper & easier.

I got FL numbers, vin plates, etc. On my Rickter, my deal is me, Lucas and a few thought it would be a great trip to ride some west coast surf. My deal is a custom high dollar ski with Yamaha vins, that's a long way to travel to take a chance on getting my balls busted about a Yamaha/Rickter.

This thread concerned me, as I have a yamaha that looks a lot like a Rickter, so I Just talked with Taylor Curtis, He was got stopped at Pismo with no reg or stickers on a high dollar Rickter, got a fix it ticket , make sure you have a registration for your ski dont be an azz and your good to go,

Just have cf number on your ski, and i think you'll be okay!!! I've been riding there for 15 years and this is the first time that i've ever been checked... It's pretty much a fix it ticket, and he let me ride the whole weekend. Good luck guys, don't let this minor thing ruin your plan, i just wanted everyone to be inform...see you all in october..

if you got a plate on it you should be fine....ive never been stopped. if they ask just tell them it must have fell off on the drive over.

I dont think trailers need stickers do they? i know my trailer was basically a one time registration fee for like 10-15 years or something. depends on what time u show up at night. i beleive they leave their station around 11 pm but you are still able to get onto the beach. I have stayed the night out there before and gone back in the morning to go pay for camping.

You can also reserve your camping permit online, might be the easiest thing to do.

or call 1-800-444-7275.
hope this helps.

I took my quad last time and they didnt check at the gate for green stickers and never saw them check anyone else at gate either. Im guessin they leave that up to the rangers on the beach? Getting a reservation online is prolly the way I would go if I was gonna arrive late at night. Camping without a permit is a $300 fine.
