Super Jet bringing my sj back from the dead

during a brief retierment from mx racing back in 95 due to injury my friends conviced me that jet ski racing was safe and you couldnt get hurt so i grabbed this sj701 new from a local yam dealer and started racing. 1 collar bone, 1 mcl tear and a seperated shoulder after 2 years of js racing i decided to go back to the dirt and my boat sat for years and years. when i moved to a new house in fortcollins i forgot i even had the thing and now it was trashed due to a fuel leak that developd and de-laminated the fiberglass surrounding the engine compartment and the hood was toast. i was actually going to haul it to the dump but my friend ensured me he could fix the fiberglass damage and re-paint it making it like new.DSCF4168.jpgDSCF4170.jpg i bought a new hood for it and he went to work

so now that the paint was done it was time for some motor work, it was completely stock except for a prop, intake grate and ride plate. started searching the x for parts, pipe and water-box first, it was all down hill down hill from there for my bank account but i didnt care cause i forgot how much fun going to the lake was. this i where i ended up, riva dry pipe, tdr water box, boyensen reeds, msd enhancer, hooker 9/15, new handle pole spring, protech flame arrester, west coast head, new bars and grips, jetworks fcv, extra bilge, workx intake grate, riva groovy and some carb work.DSCF5085.jpgDSCF5088.jpg

now i got the itch to make my boat a bit quicker for next season, found out that the riva pipe i had was called a dry pipe but it is not, it looks like a mini type 4 but has a wet chamber. guys at riva said they good pipes but it is a wet pipe for sure. started a hunt for a type 4 or a riva freeride and found what i believe to be a speedwerks pipe which i had herd is a touch better than the type 4 and riva. changing out my stock sbn44 for a blackjack 44, sent my flywheel and nozzle to zero for some work and im currently tapping my pump for dual cooling. was running my compression at 190 but i found some domes to lower that down into mid 170 range cause im tired of mixn race gas in with my pump gasDSCF5579.jpgDSCF5580.jpgDSCF5581.jpg
