300/440/550 Build Thread: Yamaha Superjet motor in a Kawasaki 550sx hull

Rhaas on facebook quoted me $340 plus $15 shipping. Not a bad price considering you get all the mounts, ebox bracket, coupler, etc. I'm going to do it as soon as I get extra cash, the 650 engine I have is also super reliable and that cant be said for the piston port 550's I had in it before :dead1:

What diameter is the kawasaki 550 exhaust hose? I have a yami hose off a stock exhaust and probably gonna cut it and clamp it like you did. I wonder if I can buy a piece of radiator hose at autozone

I'm not sure of the exhaust hose diameter. I used my 550SX water box so I didn't have to change the exhaust hose.

I just pulled the 650 from my ski to upgrade it to a 61X 701. The RHAAS kit still looks like new after 2 years of riding just about every weekend. However, for those of you who have done this conversion that have been chasing a weird vibration, I just found out what is it.

The bolt on the bottom of the motor that holds the tray on at the carb side rear contacts a hull rib in the corner by the battery box. If you grind away the hull there I bet the vibration goes away. My vibration got less and less because the bolt eventually wore away the hull rib.

What size battery did you get I bought the 14 but it slightly larger than the rhaas bracket. Went and tried to find something smaller but the 12s have rhe same case as the 14 just shorter

Hey so I have some questions for you I'm doing to exhaust mod right now with a Coffman sizzler manifold and a Kawasaki 650sx pipe
1. On the head pipe for the 650sx the nippel on the side of the head did you block that off?
2. Stinger what diameter is it for the hose to clamp to I have a 2" might need the smaller one
3. What drill bit and tap did you use for the new fitting on the head pipe
