BUN gets screwed

Is Brit racist? Is Aussie racist? Since when is an abbreviation "racial"? What if he said that the Brits all showed up in uniform with the Union Jack painted on their ski's? Same thing. :toothache:

You're forgetting that the term Jap has a long standing negative connotation with it. Using Jap as an abbreviation does not make someone a racist but it is the same term that has been used to dehumanize an entire race of people since WWII, and it carries a lot of ugly baggage. It is the term that people used while they were rounding up American Japanese, like the ones in my family, and throwing them in prison camps. Someone who doesn't know you and doesn't know you are not racist will probably assume the worst when they hear you use it.

Yeah-I wasn't sure on Watanabe's spelling. lol

I totally agree w/Darin on the politcal part of things. Don't get me wrong-they are ALL awesome and I am jealous as hell that I can't pull a single trick that they pull all the time. I mean NO dis-respect to Lenzi at all. I do however think that Lenzi could have gone bigger than he did as well as Watanabe! Watanabe thought he had it wrapped up and therefore did not do 6 in a row. Had he known it was a political contest, he would have surely tried to pull 6 in a row.

This is my opinion and nothing more
people. Get off the
rag!

From what I saw, Watanabe did go for 6, 2 seperate times. by the 3rd flip he had lost momentum. Water conditions there are a whole lot different than over at Body Beach where the water stays smooth. He spiked the nose in causing him to not to be able to hit the forth flip. He has been doing 4-5 flips for a while, same thing with 4-5-6 rolls consecutive, in perfect conditions he can do them, so can lenzi. On the main body of water you can forget it. You just dont have clean enough water.

Lenzi won it fair and square. He had alot of variation, it was like a breath of fresh air actually!!!!!!!

Ratti won the 07 Nats because he was the cleanest, Lenzi won today because he executed and was very clean. Lee Stone was very clean as well. Roy had a few bobbles.

Lenzi is running his own hull, with a Polaris\Mod engine same as Malone, Lee Stone, Rick Roy and his crew as set up by Mark Baxter (Power Factor)

Adding a little more derailment to this thread

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jap

Wikipedia said:
Jap is an English abbreviation of the word "Japanese." Today it is regarded as an ethnic slur, though English-speaking countries differ in the degree they consider the term offensive. In the United States, Japanese Americans have come to find the term controversial or offensive, even when used as an abbreviation.[1] In the past, Jap was not considered primarily offensive; however, after the events of World War II, the term became derogatory.[2]

Though you may see it as an abbreviation, many are offended by that term and let's refrain from its use. What was once accepted becomes derogatory once a negative connotation is associated with it.

when it gets to bogeys run it cuts out.. is that happening to anyone elese?
Something to try:
Hit play then hit pause then watch the bar move as it buffers. Wait until it's all the way to the right before hitting play. You need a pretty fast internet connection (over 2mbit) to watch it without waiting a while.

I thought watannbe was awesome I also thought lenze was awesome as well
I was watching it online I actually thought that watannbe would win but good for lenzi

I agree with Tommy (nice meeting you by the way). Watanabe has skills, but the routine was boring, how many times can you see somebody attempt 5-6 flip combination in one 2 minute run. I honestly think he should have scored lower for doing the same thing over and over (and I love watching the Japanese riders go big, not biased at all). I was waiting for his run to end, it was that boring to me. Lenzi's run seemed extremely short because he was mixing it up and kept me waiting to see what was next, he deserved it for just trying to not repeat the tricks.

But the best....RICK ROY. Class act all the way. I wish I could have shook his hand after that speech.

I think they need some exhibition freestyle, maybe during the lunch breaks and between motos so riders that don't want to compete (like Roy/Malone/etc) but have skills can please the crowd. Also could showcase some up and coming riders that way as well without the pressure of having to compete.

Bogey and Stoyer I always love watching, and Lee Stone was great as well, I see him being around for some years to come and pushing some people to go higher.
