Blasters are a ton of fun. I think they are like a dirtbike on the water IMO. I climb on from the rear and sit on the seat before I even put the key in the kill switch haha. That took some practice though. I have noticed that it seems like the taller the person the harder time they have boarding and riding in the beginning. Could just be a coincidence. But I'd choose a b1 over a b2 anyday. I didn't like how a b2 handled and it felt to big and not as nimble as a b1. This is just my 2 cents :)

My first post, great site!
Been out of jet skiing since -98!! I had a GP-760 and a polaris sl 780 and am looking to get away from the
flat turning wave runners.
I tried deep water boarding a B1 way back then from the rear w/o success.
Since then I've seen the "side mount" on youtube etc.
The blaster to me is so intriguing cause I want a true lean in craft no matter brand or type.
I wonder how much of carving you give up if you get a B2.
Maybe the two shouldn't even be compared.
I'm a 6'2" 200lb guy, fairly fit. I guess I could just buy a B1 and hope for the best.
Also contemplating a standup, want something challenging.
Any good advice?

I didn't read all the replies...

The B1 and B2 are both great boats.

I would only want a B1 if it were a 2-cylinder with mods like a pipe, head, etc. Stock is under powered and a triple is too heavy (I hear, never got to ride a 1200 B1).
I would only want a B2 if it had a 1200 conversion. The B2 is much more stable and heavy than the B1. It is not very exciting. It would be exciting with a triple I am sure.

I had a hard time side mounting Ryans limited B1 when he had it, but he was 40 lbs heavier than me and had it down with practice. Adding Trim to your B1 will probably make it easier to side mount. A surf seat will probably help too but I haven't used that either.
