If you are short on $$, pick up a used one, they are usually ok.
But the JSS service is awesome, plus you can get external disconnects for the ebox. You might not need both coils repalced on the stator.

Definately send it to JSS. It will cost about the same as buying a used stator and be better yhan used. I just had mine rebuilt and the turn around was quick.

doesn't some guy by the name of #ZERO do stator refinishing?

seems like I sent him 3 stators a while back and they came back looking good as new - and for a MUCH more reasonable price than JSS

I almost ordered the wsm one from a friend of mine yesterday for his cost which was around $200, but I did a search on here and couldnt find anything but negative comments about aftermarket electronics. Cost isnt really an issue I am looking for bullet proof.

Would allso say fresh used OEM, JSS or NEW OEM.

Sometimes it's cheaper just to purchase a complete new one now rather than rebuilding them.

Brand New 61X $95 free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stator-Yama...Personal_Watercraft_Parts&hash=item415aaf599b

Brand New 62T $202 free shipping: http://powersport-superstore-inc.amazonwebstore.com/cart.htm?sessionId=6895033040873600293

They also have the 62 stators for $95 and free shipping. They are made by a company called caltric. If that is a quality product I guess I made a mistake and paid too much, but I ride only salt water and dont want to be stranded because I saved $150 and bought chinese crap

The WSM appears to be almost identical to the oem but not too sure about the Caltric brand?

Any problems with using these aftermarket stators yet?

So what was the actual failure problem with the stator and did they warranty it?

I would be curious to test the resistance specs of each coil and compare it with an oem stator.

Do you know what gauge the WSM or Caltric wires are and if they're using tin plated marine grade wire as on the oem unit?

I know several people in DK, having elec troubles, with complete stock elec, some with msd enhancer. one tried wsm stator, one wsm coils. i think 3 or 4 people had some kind og WSM stator elec, and none worked. They got new/used OEM stuff and were running again. Actually one got a new replace WSM coil 3 times!! all bad, until Bo at Customski.dk took care of the warrenty and send him an OEM, that did the magic trick. None of the guys i know skiing in DK, dare to buy WSM stators/coils anymore. I guess "we" could have a bad batch. Because i dosent make sense to produce stuff that dosent work haha

Just a warning to all reading this:

I ordered a Caltric stator off ebay to try out (cheap fix for a friend). They listed it as a 62t stator and said it fits 1996-2012 superjets. BUT... I received a 61x stator - I know the difference. Wrote them a message and described the differences (including timing issues and a huge air gap between the flywheel magnets and the coils). They just said they've shipped a bunch of them for that application with no complaints or problems. They did refund my money including shipping, but don't buy one for a 62t application!

Even getting one for a 61x is sketchy. The wires were super thin and the connectors looked like junk. Just an FYI...
