And you think its acceptable for someone to basically copy a design, skirt the laws, and call it their own?
ADA has a pretty unique looking head....yes a head is a head and they all do the same thing..but someone would need to do some pretty big changes before I would even consider it right/ethical. Accepting readily available domes is cool, as long as they redesign the rest of the head and make it their own. Obviously that was not done here, and they are just trying to benefit off ADA's R&D.
Sorry if you feel smeared, instead you should feel either ashamed or duped. I didn't post to say anything bad about you specifically, but to warn others not to buy any of these heads from you. You sold these heads so you bear some of the responsibility even if you didn't know they were fake. It is not my place to contact you, I assumed that Matt or Brooks from ADA already had. If they had already contacted you, did you already post up on pwctoday to tell others about the fakes and pm your customers to tell them about the issue?
From my first post: "Head was sent to ADA and confirmed to be a fake!!" -It was sent to Brooks at ADA already.
Note to other Xers: Do you feel he was smeared? Should I remove references to this seller?

I have delt with KCR on many transactions and I can tell you he bent over backwards to help me with some issues as well as helping MANY MANY people with their seadoo problems. You also cannot beat his vinyl kits for the seadoo boats.
He is a straight shooter and I can say without a doubt that he would not knowingly sell something that was fake...and do everything in his power to resolve the issue.
Calling him out w/o contacting him first is kinda douchbag like...but I do agree the word needed to get out so whoever is producing these gets shut down.

NO. You did the right thing.
This thread was stared to Caution other buyers.
The person selling them can CLEAR HIS NAME on this thread as well....so long there was nothing shady going on.

It is copying on one level to imitate anothers design, etc. and done all the time at different levels, but to actually put ADA's tradename on your products is a different level of copying. Outright fraud!!

I guess I could waited and asked him to come forward before posting. However, I did wait for awhile since ADA knew about this before posting already.

Mentioning who sold the head it's hardly calling someone out or smearing them.
The seller is stepping up and taking care of the buyers, so there is really no reason to discuss said seller. That wasn't the point of the thread anyway

Tough times when you can't even count on getting good head anymore.
Ditto, you did nothing wrong, the post wasnt smearing, rather stating the facts. Kcr can post up his side of the story to clear his name.
It was good info to post so that people can be aware of fake products being made using a legit dealers name. Thanks for speaking out!

I don't think anybody really smeared his name at all. There were a few post about him but they really didn't jump to conclusions. No one said he was the one "making these" and nobody said "he knew he was selling fakes". (which from his post says he was not aware).

I agree the word had to get out there...but reading the original post you sound like he knew about it and he's another a-hole on the internet trying to make a quick buck.
The problem is some people may not read his reply that he is bending over backwards and buying a brand new ADA head from ADA to resolve it, along with working with them to resolve where these fakes came from.
If it would have been me I would have contacted the seller and then wrote the post explaining the situation and that the seller was resolving it in the first post. I guarantee wither posted this info publically or not, KCR would not have sold 1 more, and would have cooperated in any way possible to take whoever is doing it down.
In other words...its not his fault. He got had too....and likely the guy who will lose the most.

Hopefully matt and the gang at ADA will have some sort of legal route to seek justice on this one. ADA makes great parts and there AWSOME to deal with! They def DO NOT deserve this . In some really skewed way its actually a form of flattery for there brand, but def needs to be STOPPED!!
