Freestyle Buyer Beware!! Fake aka Counterfeit ADA head being produced and sold!!

I honestly dont have any anger toward kcr357. I dont feel that he knew they were fake. What does piss me off is not only does this make kcr357 look bad, it is possibly the cause of my motor blowing, it makes me look bad to the guy i sold it to, and then it makes that guy look bad too, b/c I saw the head relisted on ebay by the guy I sold it to. Many people got screwed here on just this one head, nevermind all the others that are out there. I'd sure love to meet the guy who made them face to face.

Why would you not just contact me about the problem before smearing me? I just found out about this and it's not me selling fake heads, I bought these off of an ADA dealer who made his own fakes and sold them to me as genuine. There is one on my own ski as well with a brand new top end. Contact brooks @ ADA and tell him about it, and tell him what happened. I will cover the cost of a replacement. my email is kcr357@yahoo.com

the way to get in front of this is to start a thread starting with "to anyone who bought an ADA head from me..."

It is copying on one level to imitate anothers design, etc. and done all the time at different levels, but to actually put ADA's tradename on your products is a different level of copying. Outright fraud!!

I was referencing what another member said regarding how it could be "ok" for them to make some slight changes and produce it. Or at least thats how I read it. He may have meant big changes.

yep FRAUD!! It took more effort to copy the ADA head exactly than it would have to come up with a modified design of their own I think.

The problem is some people may not read his reply that he is bending over backwards and buying a brand new ADA head from ADA to resolve it, along with working with them to resolve where these fakes came from.

If it would have been me I would have contacted the seller and then wrote the post explaining the situation and that the seller was resolving it in the first post. I guarantee wither posted this info publically or not, KCR would not have sold 1 more, and would have cooperated in any way possible to take whoever is doing it down.

In other words...its not his fault. He got had too....and likely the guy who will lose the most.

thats nice he is gonna make it right for this guy...but what about the other 100 people with bad heads... isn't it the dealers responsiblilty to make sure that its quality product they are selling. I understand crap happens... but wow. Jetmaniac did nothing wrong here.

he lists how they are counterfit, and then names a name. Nothing in the first post says KCR knows, cares, or the such. Just "be on the lookout for fakes" and that he sold it. If I didnt know anything or anyone I would assume KCR is to blame.

Your reputation is everything on the internet. I agree JM needed to get the word out, but everytime I read his post I think KCR sold a counterfeit head. Which he did...but not knowingly.

All JM had to do was talk with KCR first and once he knew what happened post "KCR was the seller of the head, but he did not know he bought fakes. He has resolved this specific case, and is in touch with ADA. If anyone has one of these heads contact KCR and ADA."

Then the word is out there, and if you bought one to contact KCR and/or ADA. Then no one is perceived as a crook....when in all reality KCR is prob gonna lose his pants on this bad deal keeping his customers happy.

More of a reason to be EXTRA careful and protect yourself. The dealer obviously didn't get the fake heads from ADA. There was another supplier.

This crap reminds me of the fake Nike shoes/shirts sold at the flea market... if some one approaches you and says "i'll sell you a tractor trailer load of nikes for a $1000 bucks" and it doesn't throw up any red flags in your mind something is seriously wrong with you...

for what its worth how many people have and are asking about dimensions to copy Kenny Keepers instead of buying them etc.. there a lot of copycatting going on. although it may not be an apples to apples comparison because no one else is putting blowsion logos on them and trying to pass them off as original, but still fundamentally the exact same thing.

He did, on PWCToday.
He has also offered to pay for genuine ADA replacements.
