Super Jet Buying 07 RN

I am about to spend a bunch of money on an 07 RN in the next two days. The ski runs amazing and is as clean as the come with great mods. If I buy it its the last ski I will buy so I want to be sure its right for me. My only concern is if an 08+ would be better for me. From what I hear the 07 and down are better for surf and air and the 08+ is a little more happy medium between SXR and the 07 and below haul. I ride mostly flat water which I think the 07 is fine for and would rather have something more geared towards getting it out of the water than ripping corners. I am trying to get more into surf riding as much as I can at least. So is the 07 the right choice for me? I have no chance at riding both so I am really looking for some opinions here since I'm going to drop a lot of cash in the next day or two.

I like the old style hulls for all around riding, you could always throw a set of tubbies on it and run buoys no problem...

It does not have a big hub pump. (Does have a big hub impeller)

They added molded in sponsons, put a shorter pole on it, a stainless impeller, a thinner headgasket, and the pump is set back. And that's it.

I assure you, they weigh the same. Maybe Yamaha decided to be a little more honest from 2008 on.

08-up SJ will carve harder out of the box and stay hooked a little better. They "get out of the water" just fine. 07-down years will slide nicely and are slightly more suited for tricks. The differences aren't mind blowing by any means and it's relatively easy to make an 08+ slide or an 96-07 carve. Either way, you won't go wrong.

I guess I'm going for it. It runs really well. Dry pipe with water injection head true bored carbs port matched 82mm Ebox scoop grate rips pretty awesome on flat water for sure. Now I just need some people to ride with.
