Buying a Superjet project

So I might be buying a 96 superjet RN project. Seems like it runs great once I replaced the fuse.
Some cracks in hull. And cosmetically pretty bad.
The main question I have is about the broken handle pole. The bracket broke (the part that's rivets to the fiberglass pole) and a couple inches of the fiberglass on the pole is broken. The attachment seems good that bolts to the hull. He's got an additional 2008+ pole, but not the cable.
Would the bracket slip over the '96 pole once I shorten it? Or do I have to use the whole 08+ pole and just get a new cable?

As far as I know the bracket pictured is perfectly fine. It’s just the part that attaches to the bracket on the pole. Apparently it broke and I think he threw it away.

The aluminum handle pole end that your missing is the same on all round noses. Not sure if this was your question. You can use on off an 08’+.

Don’t buy that ski. It’s my friends old one and is sooooooooo clapped out. It’s been passed around like a 2 dollar whore since I sold it for him in April. That ski is like an old race horse and needs to be put down as in sunk to the ocean floor.

It was beat into the ground for 15 years and ridden in surf every weekend with no maintenance. Sunk a ton in the surf and broke down every other time he rode with us.

Stay away

This was Jan 1st 2020 and the ski was never right since

Hahaha I had no idea Thanks for the info!

I definitely don't want a clapped out project but am ok with a ski that needs a lot of work for the right price. I am looking for a really cheap RN Superjet that would be a fun project. I probably like having a project as much as I like riding.

Is it still a bad idea at $2500 with a newer pole? I probably would plan on putting another $1000-2000 into it while doing all the fiberglass and motor work myself. It's reading 130 and 140 psi in cylinders.

Run

Don’t look back

Buy something else is my honest advice.
