Yea, aging sux. And I do understand words like "minimal, mild, & moderate". Only saw the word "severe" once.

Old guy? @47? c'mon! 47 is the new 20!

Honestly though, really still googling words!

You tell you old fart! lol

Just finished googling medical verbage.....

I'M AN OLD FART! (with a minor, very common, text book problem)

Ain't gonna worry about it til it acts up again.

But! Does this mean that I can yell at small children, using bad language, and go to the supermarket at 6 a.m. for free samples and free coffee? And, wear my belt just beneath my nipples, with pleated shorts and those black socks with the "holder-upper" things around my upper calves, and spikeless golf shoes? Can I now write checks for goods at stores while angry young folks, in a hurry, wait in line behind me mouthing silent profanities as I fumble for my drivers licence? Can I take full advantage of the early-bird specials at local dining establishments? When I cough and hack in one of these establishments and expell a lung cookie onto the next table, will they be understanding and be glad that I did not die while they were there? Can I move into a mobile home park that has a max speed limit of 5 MPH, whether you're walking, riding a bike or driving? Will Obama deny me neck surgery if I eventually need it?

Can I ride a stand-up jet ski!!!! LOL.

I have the exact same injury and have been dealing with it all season. At first I had arm pain and finger numbness, but it went away just like yours. Last week my neck started hurting right at the disc itself also causing my neck muscles to spaz Out. Now it feels like somebody's choking me sometimes. I gotta put the skis uP now cause the wife's sick of the injuries. I wouldn't wish disc problems on my worst enemy ... Strange injury that just plain sucks balls.

no back issues yet but recently I get like a muscle cramp in my neck on the right side on the front. then its sore for like a week. very annoying. not sure what is worse all the little nagging things we just endure or the fear of how bad it could be if the doc messes us up worse. back pain is no joke. back issues that are pain elsewhere is just scary.

I work at a chiropractors office and we do things a little differently.

Avoid surgery if you can. While it fixes the problem now, 10-15 years down the road your body is going to compensate and ruin the disc/vertebrae above and below the original problem and you'll need another surgery. The recovery process is also very long.

At the chiropractor office I work at we do spinal decompression. It's not a new procedure, in fact it's been around since the 80s. Orthopedic surgeons actually discovered it, and it works so well that they were putting themselves out of a job so they always tell you surgery is the only answer. Spinal decompression actually repairs and adds fluid back into the disc without surgery or needs. It's completely noninvasive. You are strapped onto a table and attached to a rope from the machine that gently stretches your spine. (The machine works with your body so it doesn't cause any damage.) When your spine is stretched in this way it causes the disc to fill back up with fluid. And at my office we use a laser afterwords that promotes healing, reduces inflammation and pain, and it breaks down old scar tissue. (It's called a K-Laser if anyone is interested it's a class IV)

When I get off work tonight ill try to find some videos that will help clarify some of this. It's a little hard to explain through words.

But I have personally seen people come in using wheelchairs and walkers and by the time they are done with treatment they are walking on their own and getting back to their normal lives. I've also seen people with numbness/tingling in their hands and feet go away as well since we are repairing that disc.

This is a permanent solution as long as you don't re-injure yourself (which you can do by stepping off of a curb the wrong way or something silly like that even with a health back). The program is typically 20 treatments (usually 4 times a week for 5 weeks) some people take longer, some take less everyone heals differently and responds differently to treatment as well. But if you were to do spinal decompression and stay off your ski for about 5 weeks and you can be riding again.

I'm not sure where you are located (I'm in Vegas) but if you're interested in an office that does this treatment look up SpinalAid Centers of America (www.spinalaid.com)

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
