Its all about the surf!

I just recently got back from my 10 yr anniversary/ (Surf trip) to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. What a cool place this is, with air and water temps both around the mid 80’s and surf that just straight up KICKS ASS!!! Unlike other parts of Mexico, Cabo, which is located on the tip of the Baja peninsula, is separated from the sketchy Drug Cartel war zones by several hundred miles of water and desert and is completely safe. Even though it doesn’t apply to Cabo, the general bad PR Mexico has received lately has kept the prices down and made travel there a smoking deal right now. My wife and I did this 7 day trip, including Airfare, Car rental, Hotel, food, fishing trip, EVERYTHING for only $2300 for the both of us!
Most of the spots pictured here are well known surf destinations and are sacred to the surfing community, however the whole area has sooooo many points and headlands that deserted quality surf spots where you CAN ride a ski actually out number the popular paddle surf spots.
Even though I was here on a surf trip and did not have my ski with me, I had my eye open for riding spots for the skis on a future trip. These spots are all about a 1000 miles South of San Diego, CA or a 2 day drive, which is about the same distance most of the So Cal area locals travel to get to the Surf Slam in Oregon every year, which makes a future Cabo/ Baja ski safari a completely do-able prospect.
We got head high surf everyday we were there. This place is called Shipwrecks, which is one of those sacred surf locales.

This place is called 9 Palms and is another one of those sacred surf locales.

This is a no name spot, I’m sure it has a name, I just don’t know what it is. This is one of many places where you CAN ride a ski! Just check out that line up!!!

This place is called Punta Perfecta. It doesn’t look as good as some of the other spots in these pictures but it was actually one of the fun-er spots we surfed. One day I surfed the outer point all by myself for about 2 hrs. Can you imagine surfing a perfect right point, with over head waves, in 80 degree water all by yourself? I thought I had died and went to Heaven!

These pics are the Famous Cabo Arch, from different angles. The Locals said the Arch is usually surrounded by enough water so that boats can navigate through the hole, but about every 5 yrs the sand builds up so you can actually walk through it on dry ground. They said the sand build up only lasts a month or so, and legend says those fortunate enough to walk through the Arch on dry ground will have good luck. Must be true with all the great surf we scored!
Cabo Arch
My best catch, a Dorado. He was promoted to dinner shortly after this photo!
Our killer hotel, this place was pretty nice, at a tenth what it usually costs! Thanks bad PR!!
Shrimp, Lobster, rice and beans, Yummy Mexican goodness!
Me and my wife Good times!
