SXR Calling everybody!!!

During the winter months here in jersey im prepping for the next season by gathering parts for my 06 sxr, so far i have gotten a tdr baffled waterbox which sounds amazing!! and my lightened flywheel from #zero which i didnt get to try yet, also had my oem impeller cleaned up and repitched by impros to a 12/17 as per daves recommendation. my plan is for a wet pipe but after hearing about the timing advance jumper possibly blowing my engine im alittle worried, i ride on a glass river and do alot of WOT runs, (this is why the jumper scares me) i picked up an advent t3 with a d14 set and dont know who to talk to about what curve i should run. I dont want to detonate my motor, has anyone ran a similar setup or ran with the timing jumper with good or bad experiences? I always run super from my local raceway which is 93 but who knows if thats true, im about to bail on this wet pipe idea :(

you cannot run the timing advance plug AND the advent. it is not possible. just choose a curve that isnt too aggressive in terms of finish timing and you should be fine. you can find all curves for the advent on advent's website. Kommander industries can upload new curves on your advent if you need to change to a less aggressive one.

Yes i understand that the jumper is only for the oem ignition, im just not sure if i should run with the advent or with the oem ignition and jumper, and its a stock head around 160 psi

I would run the advent and ditch the jumper, your going to end up wwith more power and a better timing curve. since you are running a stock head I would run a very agressive timing curve. your not going to burn it down running stock compression and a pipe. If you are sketchy about it bring the ski down to Cape May and ill help you get it set up.

Good to know thank you and thank you for the invite, i will keep you in mind when i get it all together and when its warmer out, that would be awesome if its not too much trouble for ya, im in spotswood near rutgers, know anyone that rides up here?

Don't bail on the Wet Pipe, that is going to offer you the best HP return for your money. I had good results with my T3 with a D23 curve set running a wet pipe, 170 psi and tbm charging flywheel.

Jetfiend, any issues? Do any WOT runs? What curve do you use on your d23 set? I was told to use the d14 set that is already programmed on my advent and to use curve 2 which is (sxi-21) what would be the difference between sxi21 and the one you use? I am going to run a lightened flywheel from #zero

Sorry for the short reply, I would def run the pipe and run a more agressive curve, your going to need to adjust the carbs and fine tune put running 93 your won't be pushing the edge.

As for people that ride up your way, I stick to Cape May County, I have a really good spot here, I generally only venture elsewhere for organized rides.

If you feel you need some guidance when you get it together feel free to get in touch and bring it down.

D14 SXI-22 SXI-21 SXI-10 SXR-20

D23 SXI-22 SXI-21 SXR-31 SXR-32

I was running SXI-21 too and it worked great. I used it on a buoy boat with some long wide open straights with zero issues. If you haven't done so, check out this link, you click on the curves.

I have the wet pipe and timing advance with stock compression and have had zero issues. Can run wide open all day. I think throwing the extra compression on top of this it becomes a possible issue.

By the way I love the wet pipe. Worth getting unless you need to keep it stock for lites.

It's been a while ,but from what I recall you don't have the timing advance option anyway with the advent.
because your whole cdi is replaced.I used to go on Advents site and they would have most of the information that you would need ,depending on your compression, pipe, fuel setup. Some people had issues with Advent, but I worked at a Kawi shop and
all our sxrs got advent ignitions, never an issue at all. Also Tbm Racing had a lot of work done with Advent ignitions.
Also if your interested I have a solas mag style 12 vein pump c/w drop nozzle.some of this info may be old I havn't
jet skied in about 8 years
