Can a outboard be inboard?

@Yami-Rider This is about the best that I could find. The more photos I find, the more I shudder when I think my buddy wants one of these so badly. The 3cyl model only has 70hp.

I remember these. It is an "inboard" jet boat, that uses a power head from an "outboard" engine coupled to a jet unit. That being said, parts wise, they will interchange with what ever outboard power head it has, but it is still technically a class A inboard boat.

I believe some has Suzuki engines. Some may have had Yamaha. They are literally the exact engines as their outboard cousins.

Wet bikes were the same. They used Suzuki engines, and you can get / use Suzuki outboard engine parts for them. (carb rack, electrics, crank, pistons, etc).

Hope this helps the original question.

They're not that great(outboard jets). Bass Fishermen were talking about how they could fish rapids with them in the late 90s. They failed to ever catch on. People seem to think Jet Drives are great for shallow water, but in fact they are only good for certain types of shallow water(New Zealand rocky rivers). Try taking a Jet Boat through the shallow mud or a weedy marsh...FAIL! I've only seen a few jet units over the years. They have to be horribly ineffecient compared to a propped lower unit, and probably don't have reverse.

I have been on the water my entire life.... I've never seen anything like that. I somewhat retract my statement.
