Can I get plates and insurance in the U.S on a ktm

A friend of mine in Ca. has a 05 ktm 525 for sale .It is street legal in Ca. but the ktm is one of the only manfs. that can not be brought into Canada and stay street legal....

Wondering if being Canadian I can bring it up to buffalo and get it registered and plated and Inurance in the U.S.
I no of one person that was able to do this a few months ago. He had bought a newer ktm and was able to get it plated in the U.S. and drive it in Canada with a new york plate....

If you are a CAN citizen, you could not register your bike in the U.S. without being here on a visa. You need a permanent U.S. address and drivers lisence. O'ce a bike is treet legal, it will likely stay street legal. Current U.S. titles note wether or not a vehicle is "off-road only. not legal for street use" or approved for street use. Older bike titles did not note this, and made it easier to convert a off-road bike.

KTM bikes may not carry approval for street use in CAN from the factory, but once titled (converted and inspected) for street use by the owner, they should stay that way.
