Freestyle Can I get some constructive criticism?

Haha, she's pretty good to me, she puts up with my every waking moment thinking about jetskiing. I'm done riding for the year now, it got a lot colder the last few days and now my motor is torn down for a refresh.

Bumping this up after my first ride this year. At least I didn't forget how to flip. I would still like to get more height, it looks like I'm kind of plowing into my wake instead of riding up it. To me it looks like I should be dropping my nose down more and sooner so I can ride up the wave more. What do the experienced guys think?

i like making my setup with the pole down and going slower, trying to plow a bigger wake. i make a tighter U turn and hit the wake slower. on my freak, if i go as fast as you are, its on plane and makes a tiny setup wake. the additional speed does kind of off set the smaller wake, but then timing it is harder with more speed. if i ride pole up, i dont make as tight a turn. try that

Slow setup wake with the pole down always seems to work best for me too.
This video shows how I make mine.
Double flips on my Powerhouse 898Hurricane:

Thanks guys, I will definitely try that next time I go out. I'm also struggling with my tuning, I feel like I don't have the off idle power I should with a 1200 and after talking to Dasa I'm going to try going up a few jet sizes on the pilot, hopefully that wakes it up a bit.

You are on one of the worst hulls in the industry for riding out of tricks.

The super wide nose and very narrow taill make it initiate rotation very easily but has a terrible impact on the ability to land-throttle-ride out. The hull is designed for small surf by a surf rider and not designed for flatwater freestyle. Im afraid the more you rotate your flips and the bigger you go, the harder it will be for you to ride out as the nose will just forever be trying to lift.

If youre on a DASA 1200, you should be able to flip even if the thing is jetted inside out and back-to-front.

If it has a thrust trim system on it, the static trim may be a little up because of the way the trim system is built, which wont help. All i can suggest is you try to lower your trim as the nozzel sits when no trim is pulled (hard to do as the thrust straightens it to the reduction nozzel).

I would have to agree on the trim. You should be trying to get more height with your trim than trim itself. Back it off to 10-15* IMO

I'm talking about static trim; the way the steer nozzle sits in the neutral (non lever pulled) position.

I don't think what RyanO is saying is the problem at all. I don't have any problems landing jumps and other tricks, even when I go huge off a boat wake. I was looking more for advice on how to get some more height with my set up wake. I'm at the point now where I feel like I pretty much have it down, now I just need to refine it and work on my timing and do some more tuning.

But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to take off the sponsons and try it that way, I've never rode without them on before.

Ya I had a couple other guys tell me the same. I left my trim cable loose this year so I'm only getting maybe 15 degrees of throw right now. I tried a couple flips with no trim, felt like I got higher but I also rotated slower and belly flopped and it didn't feel very good. I'll get it, just need some more practice time. It just snowed a couple inches here yesterday so I'm waiting for it to warm up again.
