i have a -5 pole and want to make it stock length again or close to . has anyone did this ? any info would b great . thankx
I did... Not on a stock pole, (AC aluminum pole with blowsion quick steer) but concept should be the same... Used 1\4 aluminum stock, cut by it, smoothed, sanded on bench sander, used drill press and vice for holes (biggest challenge is your gonna need about a 1" bit). Helps that I have some machining experience... Took a little engineering to plan out.
I first made it out of 3\8 and lasted awhile, it bent after hard riding and I remade with 1\4. I was -5 when I bought the ski, went to -1.5ish...

well im one of those guys too lol just trying to see everyones ideas...thank you!You do have to make a cable bracket... Where there is a will, there is a way. When first learning to ride I was having a hard time with a -5 pole having never ridden at all. Was gonna get another pole and the little light bulb in my head went 'bink' and after looking at it for a few min said 'I can make that...' I like doing that crap though, some don't.
