What will it take for me to ride my 3D in this years Daytona Freeride? Some of you already know my story and know why I'm ridin this thing and not a real stand up, for those of you that dont I will post the link to my thread.

I live here in FL and would like to ride only one day. So what do you say?

I saw your post on FB, just wait for Nick's response or PM (start a conversation with) him here. But I suspect the answer is NO.

It is based on the size/weight of the hull and the danger associated with mixing small light skis with a 600lb 3D (an argument has already been raging regarding allowing sea-doo X-4 hulls to ride there in the mix... answer was NO)

I had this moved to the Daytona freeride forum.

That being said, it is Nick's rules (yamaslut). It's his event and his insurance for the event that dictates the rules.

So it's not "run what you brung" or "screw anybody that gives you a hard time" - great advice guys...
I've never been there before, I didn't realize there was rules like that. I sincerely apologize if I have offended anyone. Jesus Christ!

Always REMEMBER... Its Bushs' fault and your racist...

That said hope you can ride it.. Ill be there.. don't put seat on and its classified a stand up, Correct?

Bring it. You can always run it outside the ride zone.

Just note that Daytona has an monthly / annual ride permit. Nick has a special deal that runs thurs-sunday that waives the county fee. This is why we always have decals or something else given to us at the event. Just be aware that if you decide to bring an oversized ski and ride outside the zone, that you could be fined (by the beach patrol) for not having a proper beach registration. Also realize that the event zone is not necessarily the Ski zone (Daytona beach has a designated jet ski zone, you can't just ride anywhere), so riding outside the event zone may put you in a no-ski zone. I know years past there were surfers right on the other side of the event bouy.

No disrespect intended. Safety first. Get the proper permit and follow the rules. You will need a helmet. $25 a month for pwc permit. I believe Volusia County sells them. You will be OK to ride in the ocean away from the freeride and surfers.

Only if there is another ride zone.
