I could easily make a mold to do a tank, it is just the liability that tells me, bad idea.

Otherwise, I would have already done it.

With as many people as there are out there running PFP'S why does someone not just have larger tanks rotomolded , kind like the old westcoast tanks that stick up into the hood area, should be able to get at least 4 or 5 gallons that way. Its like Anything else price on the tanks will depend on how many are initially ordered.

I'm without a phone, so can't post pics for a few days.

I'm running a battery close in size to a deka etx9. My cart tank came from the ski clinic, same as Jmike's I think. Mounted the tank sideways and tight to the front cover. Mounted the battery in front of the tank. So the battery sits between the pipe and tank. Works awesome and is easy to get to the battery. I had to add and change mounts, but it worked out good.

I have notice that thats the only option i see for tanks besides molded type's... It may be like brian says "liability"
I love the look of carbon and its what im working with so of coarse I want to make everything in carbon....lol

Some have had issues with the resins not holding up to contact with the fuel and starting to leak. My wdk fiberglass/gelcoat tank works fine though, so I don't know. I do know that aluminum tanks are surprisingly light.

Gotcha, there are epoxy resins used in aerospace and other venues that will handle that with no issue that I know of but I will look into this and see. but now I have to buy a PFP so I can make a plug! geez, splashing sure was easier...lol

I had a wamiltons carbon tank in my superjet and It cause mucho problems as it delaminated and small fibers from the carbon passed through the fuel filter and got congregated in the carb causing a lean bottom end condition. I even tried running 2 filters and it still got through enough for me to list the tank. It was a cool unit that had foam baffle inside to stop slosh and provide consistent fuel delivery.

It's looking like the best option is a RCI 1040D cell which is 4 gallons and measurements are 9x9x12.

I have contacted RCI to see if we can get a tank without the automotive style 'AN' fittings installed AND to see if we can get one in natural instead of black.

I will post here after I have a difinitive answer from RCI.

Now I just have to decide what to do with the battery........ (I keep going back to the idea of installing it in the frt of the tray). (I never ride surf style).

Ill get measurements later but it's a 2gal jazz tank, I used the 2 inserts for the pipe for the battery box, it's a blowsion battery box so it's much stronger then the plastic box, and it's got 2 hooks on the side I used for holding down the pipe, I had to drill thru the bottom of the box at a wider spread for it to fit and turf the bottom of the battery box so it would be a snug fit, there are 2 hooks I bolted to the flywheel cover so the tank is actually only strapped to the motor, survived quite a few flops so far, this winter ill be doing another insert to hold the tank down a littler better but that's how I did it, also the face of the tank is turfed as well, Also there is an insert under the tank so the tank is sitting ontop of some 1" padding with a hole in it so the bottom it flat, just thought of this... I've got billet cases so my pipe is higher then a motor with stock cases, same set-up would work with stock cases BUT you would have to get the tank higher yet because it buldges out at the bottom and you would have to turn it sideways

I had the same carbon tank, with the same exact problems, with no support from Wamiltons on the issue. That was my last purchase from them.
