Can you install conectors on stator wires?

Not a huge deal, but it would be nice at times to remove the engine without removing the ebox.

Would it work to cut and install Weather Pack connectors (Like new cars have) on the stator wires. A nice 4 wire waterproof connector would be nice to unplug at times.

I just did mine with the oem yamaha style bullet connectors. Just like the ones in the Ebox. Works great.

Keep them clean and greased and will be fine.

I cheat and use vise grips to crimp Deutsch connectors. It fits in the teeth perfect and only a trained eye would know. And I solder them too.

For sure, keep them greased up as with everything electric in salt. Not too much in the water proof ones though, I've seen the plugs get damaged from people filling them with grease and shoving them together.

I swear by Deutsch connectors and use nothing else for watercraft. I have them on my SJ ebox as well as the JSS battery disconnect kit. It's wonderful to be able to pull the entire ebox in 30 seconds to work on it.

As for the Deutsch crimper, I found mine on Amazon I think for like $20 or $30.

I am a solder junky too, but the 4 way crimp from the Deutsch tool, environmental seals in the connectors and added dielectric grease just makes it unnecessary in my opinion.

I use bullet connectors on brown n red start switch wires in lieu of oem connectors that corrode in salt and also as a switch for TL brain...works great.

Deutsch connectors on everything. I have the 62t wired the same as my other ski with a 61x. Plug and play.

I have this crimper for the weather pack connector in the OP picture. Will this work on deutsch connectors? Been happy with what I have, but might start using deutsch if they’re better.

Yes. My harness was rebuilt by Jet Ski Solutions, and there is a plug...which came in handy when we had to pull the flywheel a second time to replace a charging coil. No issues.
