Canada Pays Big

At the recent WCWA national in Saskatoon the association had decent pay outs. I won 500 cash for winning freestyle both days. The promoters want to see more freestyle at the next event and hopefully this will bring out a few more!!!

Wow thats great news. Killer deal. This is exactly what this sport needs, sponsors to throw some cash out there to support the riders. Not to side track but we have finally attained a sponsor for our ride in Aug that is putting up cash prizes for classes on Free style also. Lets hope that this ride and others can bring bigger and better riders in to attract larger crowds, and in the process make it more fun for everyone involved

Pay $350 entry fee, win the World Finals, receive a $8 plaque and a $20 trophie.

I think I know where I'm going!
They need to get WF out of that dump of a town, nobody wants to throw big sponsor money at an event in the middle of the desert with 30 spectators.

This is crazy, I had no idea. We are having a 30 donation to charity and the cost of the event and the prizes are yet to be determined but I know first place will be over 300, could be 500. We have a local plumbing supply company throwing in the cash this year for advertising. Its all about the charitys and getting good riders here for the event.

i think havasu is a perfect place for finals ,great town .theres nothing like raging in a small desert resort town with great ride spots all around .its just the sport is lacking in corporate monies like in years past (bud tour days).in years past when economic times were better ,every national stop drew large crowds and were big events .then the back yard wrestling days set in ,and now it has been making a steady recovery but is still no where near where it was .the good thing is there is still money to be made in the industry ,just maybe not prize money...

The next race and Freestyle is this coming weekend in Saskatoon, 13th, 14th, and 15th during the 'Taste of Saskatchewan' Festival, 30 restaraunts and 55 bands. It's on the River and a great Venue with superclean water too btw! Same guy's putting this one on so come help them out, I hear they did a great job especially since we have such a small club here!
