Other Cant find a thread - aligning/shimming

i hate to post a thread about this but ive been searching for a hour and half.

there was a thread a long while back that someone did a very in depth (about a page long) write up on how to align the pump, then midshaft, then engine.
anyone know where i could find it?

im trying to figure out how to check/align the midshaft.
thanks,

I know you align the pump so that the driveshaft is dead center in the hole. The midshaft I don't know. I just re did what the stock spacing was, the engine you do with a credit card. You put a credit card or a razor blade on the top sides and bottom, use a mirror for the bottom and keep adjusting til the razor/ straight edge is dead on. You need to do this with the coupler spacer in between. The. You slide the engine forward insert the coupler spacer and re tighten the motor mounts, I'll help you this week if you want.

Yea its good. Each time I fine/see a good post/thread I print it out at work, 3 hole punch it and put it in my binder I keep in my shop. It comes in very handy. No more running online trying to find that thread with the info. Even the McMaster list is printed out and in the binder.

I have a works document that I paste all the links into, along with a short description of what the post is. Works better than favorites IMO.
