No, that can hardly be repaired. JB Weld would not be strong enough. Your avatar seems to show a 94 or 95 SJ. If so, that carb can be had "used"- cheaply.

I have a stock 44 Mikuni ..yamanube is right it the screw that runs down to hit the tab to hold ur carb at idle speed ..yes my avatar is a fx 1 that I had three years ago and couldnt keep the son off of it when I was riding .he love that ski but it had to go ..

So I don't guess there's really anyway to fix it

did the screw break or the tab? i had ne where the tab broke off. had to go have it welded. or just deal with that if u let go of the throttle the ski shuts off.... lol

oh sorry forgot to mention.... after welding it broke again a year later. i limped it out the rest of the season with a ski that just shutoff if i let go of throttle..... then replaced the carb.

You can adjust the throttle cable for your idle. Octanes had to do this as they had no idle stop... Just check your steering after, because some setups can pull the throttle cable, giving you a little extra throttle when you turn in one direction...

My 49 full spec broke in shipping from Australia, idle speed screw boss broke in half right across the idle speed adjustment screw bore. Ed at Fast Carb fixed it for me. He cuts the boss completely off the carb, mills it flat, takes a new cut off boss from carbs he's building and mills it square. Drills and taps a hole in both pieces, installs real expensive epoxy between both halves and attaches with a, if my memory is correct, a tiny #4 set screw. Good as new now..

In my situation replacing the carb for this would be real expensive, at the time 46's on back order and no 49's so I couldn't even get one

You could try this or replace your carb like others have mentioned, Riva has 44's new for like $219....

If you need a new idle stop boss I have one extra you can have

Thanks guys for the info ..I did try the old method of useing the cable to addjust the idle as one guy mentioned and when I turned the handle bars it turned up the idle so I'm just going to bite the bullet and get a new one

Same thing happened to my carb, and the PO rigged something up. Ill snap a picture. Pretty much just took a small piece of metal, drill and tapped a hole in what was left of the tab, and then bolted the piece of metal to the tab and drilled a new hole for the idle screw on the metal piece.

Going to see if a guy can weld me on a small tab first and if not I guess new carb .I will be looking for

That's how mine broke too. I have a new idle stop boss cut off 46's before they make 48 and 49 out of them. It's long and has the screw, you can cut and file both ends square instead of milling and epoxy or JB weld and set screw it like I mentioned above. Mine came out really good. I wanted to weld mine at first too but Ed said the metal doesn't weld well.

I can send you a boss free, just let me know if you need it.
