Score602: how did your buddy make out on the saturday afternoon ride? I didnt know it was his first time in the surf, Otherwise I would of told him not to come out. Did he make it off the beach?? Because he didnt want to be towed. His friend did come back to pick him up right lol??? I felt bad leaving him there but there was nothing i could do for him, I hung around the surf until I went through my gas.

Yea he got em back apparently had to walk like a mile with the beach dolly... Ski needs some attention this week lol nuthing that can't be fixed!

aahhhhh, SEIZECO's? that could be the issue. maybe not, but man, they have been a pia for alot of people.
check compression, it really does sound like you may have seized it.
how many hrs on the top end?
you gota be kidding, top end has less then 5 hrs on it...i had it out again yesterday, ran mint...will do a compression test, i think i have 35cc domes what should i be reading on a guage??

they are a pretty durable piston, but really need to warm them up throughly before any wot at all. break in on them is a little more also. i try not to use them anymore because most customers dont want to have to worry about warming them up before running the crap out of them, and of course they are more expensive.

compression depends on the type of head and size of domes, type of cylinder (61x or 62t), and bore. but with 35cc, your probably looking around 185-195 psi.
what did you have originally when you put the new pistons in? did you check the squish?

It's an Ada head 35 cc domes, 61x cylinder +.10 bore. Never checked compression when I finished the motor..I'll check this week.

so the ada w/ 35cc domes should put you at 185 with stock bore, probably closer to 190 with oversize pistons. so you need to run at least 91+ octane
also what plugs are you running?
how is the pipe tuned?

were you running wot when it shut off?

im running 93 octane fuel/about 45:1 premix
stock plugs...should i use a colder plug?
i havent touched any of the screws on the pipe, maybe ryan can chime in if he remembers how the pipe was tuned.
i was running a solid 3/4 throttle, but i was in some real heavy chop, pump was unloaded more then it was loaded lol
thanks for the help

bottom open 3/4 of a turn but that was 2 owners ago. ya sounds like you stuck it. that 3/4 throttle is a bad place to ride in.very lean spot in the carb there. who bored the cylinder? did you check your ring end gap when you put it together? as for compression im running 225 on pump gas no issues. so 190 is fine on 93. you need to pull that carb and check it out. that ski ran perfect when i sold it to the kid befroe you. somthing is up.

first things first, check your compression. if its been damaged, no since inn making it worse and more expensive to repair.

if you have the stock cdi its less likely to sieze when the pump comes loose because it bounces off the rev limiter causing it to pump more oil and fuel then it can burn at that moment.

did you rebuild the carb when you rebuilt the top end? were the ports chamfered? ring end gap and the piston to cylinder clearance is important, especially with wiseco pistons. do you know what the clearance was setup with?

and i have to ask, hey ryan,
are you doing alot of wot on pump gas with 225 compression?
