Carbon BOB Gen 1 opinions/value

Looking to buy a BOB Gen 1 hull. I have read a lot of mixed reviews. Just curious if it is a wise investment and if I would be able to get my money back out of it if and when I go to sell it.

What is just the carbon BOB Gen 1 hull with ride plate and midshaft worth this time of year?

What is the carbon BOB Gen 1 hull built worth with:
Xmetal pole/steering
Ported 62t 718
Dual sbn 38s or 44s
ADA girdled head
Factory B pipe
144 solas mag
Thrust Innovations Ez Trim
Etc
In the spring!

Also how do they ride? I would like an all around ski to ride a little bit of surf and mostly flat water

I paid $1500 for a brand new glass gen 1 (bought secondhand), it is not what I would consider an "all around ski".

I know of a carbon gen 1 in MI that's been passed around like a $3 hooker. It was a comp freestyle ski before it got here, so you know it's had a hard life. I wouldn't look to spend a whole bunch on any gen 1, as the build quality wasn't great, and they're getting old.

I rode that thing for 50 seconds and I have no idea who would ever want to own one.

Trust me I have no intentions on being shady. That is the exact opposite of what I stand for. John and I simply exchanged texts back and forth. We talked about different trades we could do and even about possibly buying or trading for his Q8 hull. I told him I was interested but never committed to buy nor did I put a down payment on anything. I addressed my concerns with the hull the entire time the few days we exchanged texts.

Also here is a direct quote from mine and johns conversation (texts)

"Dont be afraid to sell it elsewhere. If I wouldn't have put out all this extra cash on all these other skis and stuff I would have had the cash right now. As soon as I come up with the cash Ill see if you still have the hull/hulls"

Wow i thought that the conversation sunay of "x parts and y money for the bob, okay sounds good" and establishing that we were meeting saturday half way in between was a pretty high level of commitment.

if the conversation had been "waht are the specs" "okay let me do some research and get back to you" would have been closer to what you are describing.
