i have a 93 sn and i found some cracks and its my hull that im trying to turn in to a free ride hull i know i have to do something about the cracks i have been thinking about using 5.5oz carbon/kevlar its a good price but is it strong enof i ride mostly flat water and once and a while the big lake is one layer strong enof or will it take a few layers i do have ALOT of glass laying around but i want to make it light as posible since i only weigh 125lbs wet and its still a 7ft ski any ideas? my idea to fix it is grind the ribs and the crack but make i slite v in the crack and put glass in it the sand the glass flat with the hull then put a layer of carbon/kevlar over it maybe two layers if i have to.

so i was watching some youtube vids to get a quick how to on carbon fiber and i dont know if vacumeing makes it weaker but i know it makes it lighter but they said one layer of carbon fiber can flext like one card from a deck of cards does it still flex if its not vacumed be it would seem very hard to vacume a hull and still make it work fiber glass doesnt flex like that one lay so in the long run would one fiber glass be stronger and lighter because it would need less layers?

My '93 did the same thing... I just put a big glass cloth and west systems bandaid on the outside of the hull one night and it was OK till I decommed it this year. My new '93 has Sglass with 2x2 twill carbon fiber over it and bi-ax on the bond line and in the nose.
