Hello all,
I just recently went through my stock 1999 701 RN and added a few modifications. Those being hooker 9/15 impeller, TDR waterbox, Blowsion 1 piece head with 37cc domes, Speedwerx Dry pipe (until I can get my hands on a Bpipe). I also rebuilt the dual 38s and added 135 main jets and 95 gram pop-off springs. Needle is stock I believe. I noticed two things out of water and those being it started extremely easy and when going from Idle to 1/3 throttle it’d bog. I’m by no means Carb savvy so I decided to play it safe when taking it to the lake by starting out with low and high speed 2 1/2 turns out. Only messing with the low speed adjuster I adjusted both in small increments until I was at 1 turn out and had no effect on my idle to 1/3 throttle response, it stayed the exactly the same. (High speed absolutely ripped no matter the adjustment) My best Guess is my pop off pressure is too low therefore fuel is just dribbling out hence why tuning has no effect and why it starts so easily. Curious as to what everyone thinks? Also since it’s a slave carb set-up should they have different adjustments? Thank you everyone!
