Card question or maybe prop idk

Okay so I have recently installed total loss MSD system and after I installed it I have seemed to have lost off the bottom end I have tuned in the carbs and did wide open open plug test in the plugs look good up top and it feels good it's just now when I go to pump the gas and try to do a jump it seems to the lagging off the bottom but it seem to be getting better with adjusting the carb I was just wondering if maybe it could be from the prop not hooking up because it's spinning faster now and that's why on the top it feels better I don't know I'm really new to this stuff

We need details about your setup. That said, more timing will usually need more fuel down low. Does giving it more fuel on the low speed screw make it better or worse?

What details? All I want to know is if the impeller could be making it like that or the low spwe'd curcit is to blame? Or maybe pop off ?should I have to re jet from installing a msd total loss or could it be the prop not hooking down low cuz it's spinning to fast down low now and needs a different impeller so it can hook up down low because I've been trying to tune it out with the carb but it doesn't really seem to be getting better much I mean it got better then when I first starting it after I installed the msd with no carb adjustment but it seems to not wanna pop outta the water like it use to that's why I started to think it might be a prop thing

Also, what hull, motor, carbs, jetting, pop off, head, compression, pipe, pump, nozzle size and prop. All those details are needed to determine if you are correctly propped.

I've got a stock 2001 sj with 130 in both I'm not sure on the prop it's got the regular cone but it had a worx intake grate and a Riva free ride pipe I'm not sure the carb settings on the inside but it was set mint for the setup before the msd .....but update I've went richer on the low by a next 1/2turn and I haven't got to water but I think it is helping I'm going to test in a couple min but can that happen like I was asking can u be over powered for the prop to hook? I was is more what I wanted to know but I do appreciate the help

Ya, you will definitely need more fuel with that much timing. You might need to rejet. In the water, Let it idle for 5 seconds then nail it. If it hesitates, it’s too lean. Keep going out on the lows until it doesn’t do that then go a 1/4ish turn more. If you are out past 1-3/4 you might need to go up a low speed jet size. To tune the high, full throttle for a few seconds in the water then immediately kill it without idling. Read the plugs by looking at the inner most part of the porcelain. Adjust high speed accordingly.

Yes, more power can make the pump cavitate. Does the motor rev all the way out before the boat moves at all?

Yup I had the high set but n but now I've played with the low again I'll have to lean it bak a Lil I'm sure and I'm not exactly sure about the Rev thing I'm pretty sure it's only hitting limiter as I'm pop in and at hit speed in clop I'll make sure I'm at 2 a Lil over 2 turns out on the low .....update I rode it like that and it seems a lot better though but I think I might need to upjet the low if I'm out that far rite? And im pretty sure now it's getting to lmiter quickly but I'm pretty sure it's not the impeller it's 80%tuning and 20 %maybe PROP but I need to get the tune in and I'll go from there and then ruin this tune sesh getting a better and have to do it again lol I live in Canada and it's starting to get cold up here but I'm not giving up this is my first year on the water I've always had land toys Yamaha yxz ,Yamaha banshee yfz raptor but this is my first water year and I don't even ride them anymore lol I'm always thinking today might be the last day I can take the lake and don't wanna let it go for the winter;(

Get a wet suit or a dry suit. We ride at least once a month in the winter down here in PA. Glad your getting it
Dialed in! Sounds like u might need to go up a jet on the pilot if you are out that far.

But ya I'm thinkinghave to up the pilot to but I ran outta gas today lucky the lake I was in was only ten feet max in spots and was able to walk in from a mile to the boat launch I never rode there and have always had swim be for lol

Sry and it's 32degree advanced It has 8200 high speed limit. Retard rate is 3*\1000 rpm and a 5000 retard start point
You need to be sure about the prop, a little too much will absolutely kill low end response. Retard the timing quicker, have it closer to 20 after 6000 for starters. Watercraft engines are sensitive to timing and compression. At full power they can break/melt pistons in a few seconds if you over do it.

It's not the prop I don't think although I could use a new one it's the tuning it in I'm getting it dialed and I know about the wide open being the worst time when u advance it but I'm almost never wide open for longer the 1 sec I just jump waves and play in my own wake I'm not boat chasein or racing
