FX-1 Cdi mod issues

Cut cdi open and installed 36k resists with a 500k pot. Ski turns over. Pops once like it wants to start then stops. Any ideas?

Fouled plugs?
Botched cdi? (my fault)
Bad resistor or pot?

I guess I can cut out the resistors and pot. That would make the ski stock, unless I cut into the mother board some how and messed things up. Thanks for the help.

If it sparks once when you let off the start button this could mean the CDI is defective or the pulser coil or the wire from it to the e box is open.

What color I the wire all mighty

Thy pulser wire is white with red tracer and thine resistance to ground shall be betwixt 12.6 to 15.4 ohms.

did you ever fix this because my buddies fx1 is having the same problem cus i think we botched the cdi lol

No luck. I'm in the market for a msd now. And I thought I made good cuts! Everything looked great, but no love. I'm going to clean up the cdi and see if I cut through somewhere I shouldn't have.

here are some pics of my cdi. looks like my cut went a hair too far. can i put some solder over the spots that have been cut? any other fixes?
