Cdi went bad after 20 years

Did your enhancer work with the new stator or did you have to replace that also again

"I swapped out a RIVA CDI for an Enhancer and it cleared up but only for a month or so. I sent my Stator to JSS for a rebuild and it's been flawless ever since. I tossed the RIVA CDI but I bet it would have worked just fine with the rebuilt stator. "

The enhancer worked perfect and if I still had the original RIVA CDI, I bet it would have worked as well.

Today I put the enhancer on with the jet ski soulations rewire coil started right up .
Put the old Cdi back on northing .
Put msd enhancer back on started right up again very strong spark jumps a good half inch from plug to Moter block.
John at jet ski Solutions told me he was pretty sure it was the Cdi also I sent him pictures of my box he could have told me I needed it rebuilt but he said it looked great did not need a rebuild to just buy the enhancer off eBay so I had him rewire the coil because they were so old can’t hurt
He did the work and sent them out the same day I think Johns a great honest guy who doesn’t deserve the few negative comments I’ve heard about jet ski Solutions I found them helpful

You have dealt with him 1 time? He is a great guy everything always goes good until it doesn't. That is when it goes to crap.

Doubt your msd will last 20 years, I've seen more enhancer fail then stock cdi.

I'm a huge fan of the OEM CDI's for just that reason! The curve really isn't that bad and you can't beat the lifespan!

I have one from 99 that is still good.

They use to be made better I think. I had one from 98, no issues. Most of my friends that bought new have gone threw 1-3. Maybe they are all very unlucky.

Maybe they are cranking them without boots attached to the plugs?

I can tell the difference between all the units I get to modify for the rev limiter. The older units have much more potting compound and almost double the heat dissipation crystals. The 6M6 units are potted the best.

The newer units have a thin layer of heat sink and just enough potting compound to cover the board.

Not the case.
You can hold the stop button while cranking and it will not send spark to the spark plugs.
