Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

poop castings, aftermarket hulls, aftermarket pumps, all these changes. Slide shoe in, slide pump in (without pump seal), shim to center, center shoe and make sure it touches pump wear ring (shim if needed), mark hull and glue shoe into place. It may have a snug fit with the pump seal, I like to use a large punch to slide into the pump bolt holes to push the pump forward. May be necessary to open up the mounting holes for the wear ring and the nozzle. Pretty straight forward process.

Thanks but that wasnt a question.

I just dont agree with modding the pump bolt holes for fitment. Its setting someone else up for failure if the pump is ever used in a different hull or sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Dont ghetto fab one part to fit another ghetto fabbed part. Just fix the first issue so the problem dosent get shifted down. You could probably throw a local machine shop 20 bucks and have it milled down. Thats worth every penny to me for a part the will likely be life long.

If a slotted hole sets you up for failure, you shouldn't be working on the ski to begin with. There is a reason a lot of aftermarket hull manufactures went to 8mm pump bolts instead of 10mm...... can you guess why????????

Its not surprising that am hulls use smaller bolts so there is leniency in their hull manufacturing. Yamaha had it right with dowel pins.. Everything tight with zero slop.

yea man don't modify anything, its just dumb to make it work for you. what if it doesn't work for someone you may or may not ever sell it to.

Modifying for improvement not for sacrifice. Just fit the pump shoe properly so you dont have a fvking mess of a ski. Everything gets sold at some point.

So you do still offer pump shoes?

Agreed. Only difference is i use plexus so it set up fast and stays in place. Then the silicone or 5200 to seal it up and make it pretty
