Changing out Head?

First step is to
check your squish if you installed a new head.

Is it everyone's job on this forum to confuse the poop out of people? Tune you carbs, put the jets in that should have come with your pipe, if you bought it used call Factory Pipe and get the correct jets for it. With the ADA head and 35cc domes you will be just fine, no need for further testing on the head, ADA already did it for you.

Sorry ADA did not check every cylinder I actually had a cylinder that was .040 to high in squish with ADA and the cylinder was stock along with the base gasket.

The jets that come with your pipe are only a good starting point you need to set the jets properly with a tach. for the best performance and longevity. It really surprises me the people with high dollar motors that think their carbs are set by feel and the color of the plugs.

It doesn't cost you any money to properly set and check better safe than sorry.

I guess he should just park the boat, it's ruined now. I've had about 12 different ADA heads over the years, never had a problem, all I'm saying is it seems like this guy just did his first mods to his boat, lets not scare the poop out of someone over your one bad experience.

You may have never had a problem but you may have never had the most performance out of a part if you never took the time to properly check.

Not a scare tactic just relaying what I feel is important information for building a properly tuned motor, of course he doesn't have to get into the details if he doesn't want to just bolt it on and go but IMO I like to get the most out of the parts I buy.

FYI I have never had a bad experience with ADA.
