Super Jet Changing stator- pull motor or gas tank?

Looks like it can be done by just pulling the gas tank in my SN.
Anything make it better to pull the motor or make this approach not work?

Pull the tank, it's easy with the tank out.

Just be careful with the stator screw and don't strip it.

Or you could just use a #3 Phillips that actually fits the screw heads so you don't strip them.

That was my plan. I have a fat screw driver that fits perfect

I always change them to allen head bolts when they are out. its the worst design to use those cheap screws IMO

Impact driver and a hammer is the way to remove those screws

I know its a pita but I would pull it.

Worked fine with just pulling battery, gas tank and pipe.
the nice part is the motor is still bolted down to pull the flywheel so it doesn't move around
