I have broken both xmetal and umi more than once. I have seen so many bent xmetal bars. Using solid aluminum stock now with zero issues.

Hmmm, there was talk awhile back on here that a solid alum bar would not be as strong as the regular tubular?? I dont do physics, but it did not make sense to me. Im glad to head the solid stock is working for you. I know Crab was buying some solid stock and cutting it up into bars for some peeps. Would like to hear some feedback on those.

I run easton mountain bike riser bars, work fine for me. One of my buds uses pro taper dirt bike bars.

Now I would use these for sure. I love Pro tapers and have had some bad wrecks on my MX bike and they take the abuse for sure.

Small world. The bars that turbo has are actually crabs bars. Crab cut a piece off and put them on his x2 at the surf slam a few years ago for me because his were way to tall. I made it onto americas funniest home videos with them, took them off and flew home with them in my bag.
They were on my ski for a VERY hard season before being passed on to turbo. If it can be f'd up, he'll do it. The solid stock bar has been great though, I doubt even turbo will bend them.

I bent two Xmetal straight bars in just a few rides before switching to the RRP riser 50mm fat bars and RRP steering system and put bar extension on........ and haven't bent a bar since:)

its so interesting to see how these threads unfold. i would of never guessed by the first post it would end in a AFV clip lol.

how the hell do yall break bars so often anyways?

ride hard!!!

Big stabs usually do it for me. All your weight on the bars coming down from 15 feet up will do it. Well 7/8 straight bars at least.

I bet those carbon bars are just aluminum wraped in carbon. We use "carbon" riser bars on our sleds and thats all they are. The carbon fiber doesnt absorb heat from the hand warmers unlike aluminum and also looks cool. Still has the strength from the aluminum under the carbon.

No way you are breaking those^^. Ive watched my sled tumble down hills multiple times. They are much stronger than the 7/8 steel stockers. I don't think they would feel comfortable for the skis though because they are swept back 10 degrees.
