AtlanticJet Sports sells brand new with the tools, SkatSwirls 12/17 for 199.99... only its not "3mm cutback modded"

I called impros and they said 220 for the prop and 30 to get it cut back, 250 total....

I chose to go non-cutback.....

Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go with IMPROS
give Dave a call, tell him I sent you.

I agree that Impros is a very good company who has excellent customer service, but their prices aren't the best. I just think they could be a little more competitive with their pricing.

Now if I had to have a prop repitched or cutback then I would definitely send it to Impros before anyone else.

Nevermind I just checked their prices again and it seems a swirl runs 209.99 which is only about $10 more than some others sell it for. Not bad to have the customer service that you will receive from Impros. For some reason I remember them being more when I called and asked for a price.

Sounds like atlantic jetsports may be the cheapest, if im not getting a cutback should I go 12/17 or 13/17 to just be safe, cuz thats what I hear the most.

Motor:freestyle ported, great head with 35cc domes, riva freeride pipe, msd enhancer, single44.

Well I'm running a Swirl 12/17

with a stock 701, ADA Head w/35's, Bpipe, and dual 38's and I'm really happy with the low end snap. It definitely doesn't have much on the top, but I could careless.

With a more powerful motor like yours you might want to consider a 13/17. I'd call Skat tomorrow and see what they recommend though. They are very helpful and the best part is that they are an American company.

Just a little info for you. I have recently tried a Concord 13/16 and a 13/16 cutback back to back.

On flatwater, there is no difference at all, unless you are carving your ski to the point of the pump letting go. With the 3mm cutback, you can really crank a hard turn (tubbies help a lot here) without the back letting go. When I raced on the weekend, I was sliding the tail out everywhere because I had been using the cutback prop so much!

In the surf, if you are carving up faces, the cutback is a must. It allows you to really carve into the lip and flick the tail without having the tail slide too far around under no power that the normal prop offers.

I guess in conclusion, get the 3mm cutback if you can, you'll love it and it certainly makes a good difference to overall handling and control, not just hookup.

i should see if i have any left in the garage, i may have unloaded them last spring

personally i'd recommend sending the whole pump assy to Dave
each .5mm cut increased bite for me, then again, i'm a very heavy person
I think i am at 4 or 4.5 and the next time i need prop i'll send the whole assy down. i've heard as much as 5-6mm can be cut, but i've also heard that some setups any more than 3mm hits, trial and error, thats why Dave offers 3mm

as far as pitch, again, trial and error to your personal taste, setup, and water conditions. i've used 13-15,16,17 at various cuts too, each with pros and cons
