an oem 760 crank is not the same as a 650/701. it will fit and work fine. unless yamaha changed what they are making now. its possable. makes sence to just make one crank.

So whats different? Its not the holes you mentioned earlier. My 61X crank has those, and a 62T we just tore down has them too.

650/701/760, same crank.

The 760 crank has no outside machining on the rods and has a thin sheetmetal wear ring pressed on instead of a removable collar.

You have to first sent the part to the parts list then send it to the cart to show the discount.

that's a great deal! I just tried it and it worked (didn't really buy it) They won't show the shipping charges until you checkout so I'm not sure how much it would be shipped from IN to FL but it couldn't be much.

So you probably need to order the 760 crank seal's also.
If I am understanding this right the pto end of the crank has a speedy sleeve type sealing sleeve pressed on instead of the collar like on the 701 therefore the crank seal's will be smaller I.D. ?????

rods are not the same on a 760. same lenth. holes in the small end and the big end has some small cut out in it. i think that was it.

i still cant figure out how to make this site show the discount price...

tried it with a starter motor....its listed at 270, but again..cant get it to show the discount price

also, looks like greater yamaha uses the same server/program as this place and they both advertise 30% off OEM parts

has anyone found anything better than 30%???????

Well how much profit do you think the dealers make?? 30 % sounds like a lot of discount, just ask your local yamaha dealer to match it. Dealers still pay shipping to them and cranks are not light. They pay credit card fees and have to pay employees to ship the crank . They have overhead like rent, advertising, insurance, phone bill, electric bill, trash bill, taxes and more. They can't survive on a 10 % profit

Does anyone have any pictures showing the differences between the 650/701, and 760 cranks?

Are the OEM crank side couplers the same or interchangable with one another?

I have not examined all of the various cranks but have found some easy things to spot. The 650 superjet cranks have 6R7 cast on all four webs, rods, and have a thick wear collar on a hollow PTO shaft. 701 superjet cranks will have 6M6 cast on two webs (forgot which sides), rods that are machined on the outside big end, and have a thick wear collar on a solid PTO shaft. The 760 crank can be spotted the easiest by its unmachined rods and thin wear ring on an extra beefy PTO, it also has two 6M6 webs, the other two are unmarked. The 650 webs are slightly thinner in places than 701/760 webs. I dont think strength is an issue because some people have cut these areas completely out without failure. Its common to find rebuilt cranks mixed with 650 and 701 parts. All of these cranks are interchangeable in any combination of 650-701-760 cases/cylinders.

Just a FYI, you cant get the 760 crankshafts from www.servicehonda.com for $406. I placed an order online for a few crankshafts last night and I recieved a phone call today from them with the correct price (something around $640 each).
I asked them not to process my order.
Also, the 760 crankshafts for $561.53 on www.yamahasportsplaza.com are now on backorder.
