Where is the cheapest place to buy tubbies/sponsons from? I once saw some for sale for like 100 bucks new.....some vacuum formed plastic ones but I cant find them anymore.

Thanks

I have a set of molds but honestly I wouldn't bother making a set for $100.00 and I am really not sure how anybody else could and make any money at that price, maybe some guys in China making $ 2.00 a week and using Ramen noodles and super glue could IDK.
So what I saw specifically was molded plastic/arcrylic sponsons.....not fiberglass.
How Pro-watercraft sells them for 400 also baffles me, but i guess most people in this sport have disposable income.

I figured maybe someone here knew the set I was talking about. I need to bubble the hull and ultimately modify the sponson too so Id rather locate a cheap pair.

My first set, late summer of 2001, was slabs of mahogany wood that was in the old boat woodshop. Shaped them then pulled them off and used west systems epoxy on them. I recall they were about 1/2-5/8” thick. Very similar to what R&D, 3dr made public at end of 21. Long before the shapes we see today. You can see plastic screwed onto skis on YouTube in 01-02 IJSBA races.

I got the idea after seeing plastic screwed on Chris Lawrence’s SJ. Before that people were adding width to rear! Obviously tear drop worked better than rear lift

Ya maybe I'll just use foam and shape myself and glass over it....unknown my 08 SJ has them from the factory so I'll start with that design

Just to throw my .02 in here, when I had a '14 for lites class, I tried destroyers & prowatercraft sponsons. The prowatercraft ones were not even close in terms of performance.
