they engine brake just fine, they just dont allow a pop start!
There is a method you can use to bump start a Rekluse. Get the bike rolling in gear so the tranny is hooking up then kick the kickstart fast enough to engage the Rekluse and it will start. Takes a little practice on timing but it works should the bike not want to start with kickstart alone. It is a little tricky while your stalled rolling down a technical trail, but then that's the magic of the Rekluse, it never stalls.

That's what I want to do. My friend has a KTM 450 that si street legal but for what he paid... I don't want to ride "that" bad...

Shawn, buy the bigger bike, you will always want it regardless. You just may drop ti over a few hundered more times until you get better. I bought a YZ250 years back when I thought i couldn't handle a 125. Then after a few months on the 250, I was like "I want a 500!" So when I get a street bike finally... it will be a 1000!

Dave, I'm not really looking for more power. I like the fact that my 230 will never get away from me, although I would like to move the powerband down a tad with a larger rear sprocket. Only reason I am looking into a different bike is to get one with a more dirt oriented suspension. Problem is that here in NJ, I am so limited on what can be plated. You just cannot plate a "dirt bike" anymore. They even cracked down on bringing in out of state plated dirtbikes. So basically yamaha, kawi have there 250 dual sports, or KTM, Husky. Thats my only options. I'm looking at KTM 4stroke 250's right now. Going 450 opens up alot more options, but I am not looking for more power as I ride really slow and conservative/:):):):):)ish...lol. Thinking next fall I might pick one up, but I want to test ride a few first.

Sounds like you need the best all around KTM that would be the 200.

Where's the fun in "Mellow"?
Open that bike up, and feel some fun power. There are many ways to unlock the real potential of that X. Check out this site.

And don't be afraid to hit the dunes. Just do good maintenance and there's nothing to be scared about. That sand actually polishes rims and alum. frames. Just make sure you clean your air filter well and often.

i was talkin about this post
