Dang! I was at Sebby today also! Me and a friend drove up sat morning for the Oniel SI Pro ( the big competition you saw at the inlet) and camped a longpoint for the night. Yesterday was surfable, today there was NOTHING. Barely a ripple of shorebreak! They postponed todays competition.
I didnt bring my ski and I regreted that soooo much on saturday. There was a HUGE crowd, it would have been fun to ride for them all.
I gues the monster hole at a better outer break? I was scared for daytona not having any surf, but it looks like we will be getting more than we want!

They did have the comp going in the afternoon; it got better with low tide. We went and rode the north side about halfway to Spanish House. Wind was hard out of the SE. If you were at the comp you prolly saw us come by. Black sj, red Blaster, and huge black yami cruiser. Adam, you missed your chance cause my 17 yo daughter went just to "check out all the hot guys" and to get sun. 83 degrees on Jan 7th no wetsuits needed (coming from someone that HATES cold water) Global Warming at it's finest :biggthumpup:

NOO!! We headed back to FTL after a dismall surf session around 11:00. We were surfing right next to spanish house too! That spot is actualy great for riding skiis at now that the path to the beach is grown in and it hard for surfers to get to it. Sucks I didnt get to meet you..and your daughter:biggrin: You realy should bring her to Daytona! :hail: Father n daughter bonding time at its finest ey!?

my wife has no clue what is going on or what she's in for this weekend. I mentioned the back flip comp and she asked me if I'm in it. hahaha.

I'm pretty sure she thinks I just ride around in circles all day when I take the ski out.

There is no 'sign up', the fields are set but it's very informal, this is not a true competition by any means, it's mainly for bragging rights.
