Choosing a sitdown

I'm in need of a sitdown and not really sure what's good or out there.
Looking for a bigger and stable 2 or 3 seater that will be used for rescuing kiteboarders if we get stuck out to far so needs to handle chop pretty good.
$2500 budget.

Buddy is selling a 2004 700xl 3 seater for 1k with some work would that be a good option.?
Let me know what you think.

Bc they are super reliable as long as you convert to premix. Any of the years will do you good

98 XL1200 (Non-PV) this may be true, 99-05 with the PV motor is only reliable if you do 3 things - remove the cat and install a D plate, fix the oil line issue, and put safety links on the PV's so the pins can't walk out and contact the pistons.

My recommendation is an XL760, or XL700 like your buddy has. Or, a Venture is the same hull and driveline as well. Simple, cheap, and reliable!

Agree. I bought an old 1998 GP (paid $1k) for same purposes and for non-standup friends to ride when they come to lake. I wanted something simple and reliable that I was familiar with. Easy to work on and parts are plentiful. It's been stone reliable after converting to premix. I never ride it but it's nice to have something that starts every time I have company and its old enough that I don't care how rough they treat it.
