Custom/Hybrid Circus hull build questions

OK boys it's been a while since I've been active..... started a circus build ,stopped, started, then stopped again etc. I have summoned the build gods but apparently did not make the proper sacrifice..... can't understand went wrong...... O. .... wait a minute I think I've figured out what went wrong..... IT'S A F@#@##$$$$#@$$/^&% #$@÷% £#-@'$$$ JET SKI !

Here's the rub (no pun intended)

With perfect alignment the front of my motor is about 2.5 mm from touching the hull. The pump receiver could go up about a 1/16. This would move the entire drive train up

Curious what other circus builders are coming up with. I installed the intake system. Wow! Did I miss it by a whopping 1/16.....

Lets add another Question to the list ...... What thickness are your rear pump shims. The ones between your rear tabs and hull. I'm at 3.5 mm. I do realize reduction Nozzles are cast and may vary in thickness .

I'm looking for an average here... Some were saying many moons ago we should have a min of 5mm. Don't see how they are getting that. I guess they are all different.

I think ur playing with fire with that tight of clearance. That's like coupler gap clearance. I think the engine will move that much easy and ur risking a weak spot on bottom deck ride surface. Any way to mill the pump tabs a mm? Essentially decking them all the same.

Exactly...
On my Circus (which I am second owner - it was already assembled) I have only the thickness of a piece of Hydro-Turf. I glued a piece under there to keep the engine from chattering directly on the carbon.
I don't notice it hitting except when I chop the throttle after a high-speed run, the engine unwinds and I hear a brief vibration.

The thickness of Hydro turf is about what I have.... Wanted to put in a disaster plate don't even have room for that. If I decide to add that new rear scoop pump induction I may try to lower the pump a mm or two.

Sooo.... Looks like I installed the intake right or at least like everyone else....

Greg circus only uses the rear tabs no give when the pump receiver is epoxied in....

Has anyone used a oem 38 setup with the oem plastic airbox snorkle? Does it fit? I just had an epiphany that it may not fit and my ski is only available to me on the weekends for building because of my job and the fact that I keep it 30 minutes away at my mother in laws.
